Most popular Keenspace comic?

For discussions, announcements, non-technical questions and anything else comics-related or otherwise that doesn't fit in any of the other categories.

based on newsbox refs, i'm thinking that Life on Forbz is the most popular, then comes Sketch of Love and Chop.
------------------

I agree with Capheine. If you look at your referrers (and the BigPanda front page as well) it seems obvious that a great many people visit Life on Forbez. Is it fair to simply multiply the referrer number by the number of comics in the newsbox to get a sketchy main page estimate?
------------------

Of course, then there are comics that are neither on the Keenspace Top 100 or actively on BP...not that I'm mentioning any names (*cough* Jackie'sFridgeTonjaSteeleJoBeth! *cough*) but don't forget those comics...

------------------

Dude...we're not that popular. But if we're supposed to be advertising on something, let me know; maybe I can actually finish a graphic sometime. Stranger things have happened.

------------------

What is the most popular Keenspace comic? I think
1.Explotation Now is...
2.but I also think Offbeat is...
3.Chaos, INC... maybe...
4.Growing Up Goth... I haven't heard much from people about it...
5.Asyn Netwerkz... Hasn't been around long enough to have a huge fan base
6.Next on the Keenspace top 100...is...ME
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...Ohhh I kill me...Droll Street being popular...
7.Methodical Madness... has a chance...
Is there possibly some ULTRA-POPULAR comic I'm forgetting, or has just started at Keenspace?
(Note: Anyone on the list... If you thought I was dissing you, I wasn't)
------------------

Meanwhile, I can't help but wonder where exactly I stand in the rankings. Sure, I'm thirtieth in the Keenspace Top 100 (up from eighty-something a week ago!), but it could be the same small loyal group of readers voting daily.
Pardon my ramblings/rantings. Everything I say the next few days should be taken with several grains of salt.
------------------

in terms of critical acclaim, BoxJam has to be up there -- I keep finding notable sites that mention him, praise him, worship him, etc... certainly he seems quite appreciated in the keenspace folds, too!
in terms of site hits, yeah -- Life on Forbez is definitely up there...
and Exploitation Now is certainly a big hit with people both in and out of the 'Space...
'Course, I'm assuming that you're asking this on a global scale, not just a 'Spacer scale (as in, popular to just us 'Spacers)?
Hmm... now i'm wondering, if we had a big Space Vote, who would we (ourselves!) pick as 'Space Comic of the Year, Best Art, Funniest, best Sci-Fi, best weekly, tri-weekly, daily, BW, colour, storyline, etc...
------------------

the way i am seeing it, the top 100 lists aren't necessarily the most accurate way of gaging popularity -- but they are a good way to (hopefully) get noticed by new readers, because, yeah -- a small loyal group of readers voting every day gives the same result as a fairly large group of readers voting only once... ya know?
then again, i've only been doing this comic thing for three weeks now, so it's not like i'm an authority on the subject...
------------------

Exactly. That's what I'm fortunate enough to have. I don't think I have that many readers in terms of sheer popularity, but the ones I have are sure loyal. (I'm thinking of one in particular who keeps urging me to update the comic twice daily... :P)
And you'd better believe that my rabid voters really help me get a bit of exposure from the list. The Top 100 list is one of my biggest referrers. *grin*
In fact, my dad never misses a day voting, so at least I'm beloved by my family....
Erin
------------------

wow... is it really?
I hardly get ANY hits from the top 100 boards... it's mostly been word of mouth, and kind plugs from a few established strips that have been helping me...
but, like i said before -- i'm still really new, and i'm guessing it'll be a little while before people start noticing my strip, top 100 or otherwise...
a fanbase can't be built overnight, i guess; i should be glad i have about 250-300 readers/day at this point...
but mark my words, one day i might enjoy YOUR level of popularity, Erin! (oh, to DREAM!!)
------------------

So, lets do it this way. I'm getting aprox 200 hits/month with around 75 full pageviews. October I'm hitting over 800 due to a crossover with the popular Freefall strip.

I have no idea what my page views are but I am popping on and off from the Top 10 list at the moment - along with Boarders and Sister. It's a close run thing.
But I know that some people I respect do read and enjoy my comic and that's the main thing.
Mab
------------------
