Go For It! Hits 100 and a new site

Post by The Neko »

Well, it took a few months, but the comic has finally reached the big 100. To commemorate the occasion, I completely redesigned the entire site with a new style and layout.

Just so I don't have Kris come in and ask me to tell you more about it, here's a descrption:

It's a comic about whatever I find fanciful, as well as periodic storyarcs about the exploits of Alex and his friends & family. Expect a sardonic outlook on the world as well as generally insulting portrayals of just about anything you can image (especially fanboys of any sort). Also expect arbitrary highly expository dialogue, because it's always nice to have people spouting nonsense as introductions.

Congrats. I read GFI all the time, can't believe there's 100.

About your layout...it's a bit wonky. It's not aligned right or something. Working on it?

i love gfi, and i love you, and well, you already know all that :b

congrats on the 100, and the new layout. except the BRIGHT RANDOM ORANGE AT THE BOTTOM THAT BURNS ME it's really neat.

It aligns just fine for me, dunno if it's a browser issue or whatnot. looks great in firefox. <3

He's aware he's having layout issues in IE, but so far I don't think he's fixed it yet.

I'm glad you took the rants off the main page - they added nothing to the comic and were too remniscient of Something Awful.

The new layout is purdy. And that is the sexiest cast page I've ever seen.

I'm liking the little story lines since they make the comic more interesting. It's just that seeing the characters in the context of a story makes the sarcasm a lot funnier to me. I do like the random funniness though. And the new site looks awesome. Especially that wicked cast page. It makes me wish I knew how to do stuff. Keep rockin' it out; it's on the right track.

This paragraph I just typed has awful flow. Please ignore that.

Clearly, I need to read these massive archives. looks good. "Where in hell did you get these ideas?" perversely funny, one of the best kinds of funny.

I forgot to mention. I like the clothes you give your characters. They are anything but generic.

I always try really hard to get the clothing to look interesting. Unfortunately, I don't have any hipster characters per se, so I can't really use the fashions I see in store windows much. I mostly go with what looks like it is comfortable.

I'm glad that most people like the new site. I might change the news box color, but that will have to come eventually, since I don't feel like doing that now.

Congratulations on the milestone. I still reckon your best is the early one about around the drums... :)

Just read the entire archives and have a couple of comments...

1. The toothfairy doesn't use a hammer... According to Terry Pratchett, she uses pliers, and that is only when she doesn't have the correct change...
(That was in july in the archives)

2. Using a horn on idiots with cell-phones is a bad idea.
They're just to awkward to carry about. I prefer a diver's whistle myself...
(You won't belive the applause I got... )

3. Not all anime fans are that fat... I'm only 15Kg overveight...

:-)

Anyway, site bookmarked.
My name is Lion, Anthony Lion.

LMAO! That was funny! What a great little comic you have there. It's rare to find a comic that actually succeeds at being funny. Truly a work of web-art! Welcome to the 100 club!
