I was thinking of advertising too, but then Legostar said he'd guarantee I got a BILLION hits if I drew him fanart, so that's why I now have a picture of lego people sitting on my floor.

But it only makes me miss my legos. My pretty legos. And the perfectly square house with palm trees I made with lego when I was ten.

Wow, I hadn't thought of taking the dog route. But, they are mobile, and people like dogs, so maybe they'll like your comic too. However, you may take a hit with cat people.
Nowhere near as much of a hit as he'd take if he tried sticking something on a cat... :D

Thing'd rip him limb from limb and spit on his grave.

or at least scratch him. Dog'd go "ooh oooh put another on! Put another on! Pleeeeease?!"

Well, I've been thinking of rethinking my dog route. I have tried the old people thing though, and my hits have gone up. And by hits, I mean me getting hit with canes. I need to rethink my strategy.

I did some ads with Blank Label and Comixpedia's programs. Got tons of hits. I'm waiting for Keenspot's version of this to open up soon.

I got four for Christmas last year. And a six pack of beer.

There are definitely perks... :)

I dunno if they could technically do it here either. Not to worry, they did, and the cans sat at the foot of my desk for close to a week before I took the box of presents home again...

Christmas is good. :)

I'm going to buck the trend here. When I started experimenting with advertising, I tried both thewebcomiclist and Online Comics in parallel. I got about 3 times as many hits from Online Comics than from thewebcomiclist.

That may relate to genre or some other factor--I don't know--but that's been my experience.

I'm lucky, in a sense. Basically, there's this student newspaper that's printed at the school I visit which needs (or just wants to put up with) a comic in their newspaper. I got mine printed in it last (school) year. My plan for this year is to submit it again, except with the URL of my site and all that in the picture so that I can actually get some ad space for the site.... assuming they'll allow that. Hey... it could work.

In the meantime, I've been considering advertising on some site. I don't really have money to burn or anything, but could turn out okay.... I haven't bothered pitching my comic yet either, because I don't think the archive is big enough, even though it's got nearly 50 comics in it now..... but I will. Soon. Probably before school starts.
