I work in fast food. I have classified people down to: Stupid Unlogical and all around jerks, and Smart logical and will pick up their trash when they leave while saying thank you.

I hate people who stare at the menu for a hour and then order something wrong. Ordering something wrong isn't whatt bothers me, it when I correct them and they get all pissy at me.
"What gravy doesn't come with two breast."
"No sir... its only 50 cents more though..."
"Well I never! Blah blah blah I'm not coming back!"
-or-
"Ok I want a number 1 with this side order and this side order."
"Ok sir that's $5.40."
"Ok, hey can I go a head and get my drink to fill up?"
"You didn't get a drink"
"A drink comes with a number one!"
"Not if you get two side orders, sir"
"Well I never! Blah blah blah I'm not coming here again!"

ACTUALLY READ THE MENU THAT YOU JUST SPENT AN HOUR STARING AT!!

I'm going to go get something to eat now! ^_^

Proud to be a smart logical who picks up his trash (and his dumb unlogical friends') and says thank you when no one else does.

stupid customer story:

i work in a photo lab, and sometimes we do things for customers, like make slides from things... (slides being transparencies that you put in a projector, in case you're too young to remember the popularity of slides! ;))

well, we had this customer, and he wanted slides made from some pages with graphs and whatnot on them. we made them for him, did the job all happy, and he comes to pick them up.

about an hour or so later, we get a phone call, and its that customer, cussing up a storm that the slides were all backwards.

(think about it... transparent... that means you can see through it... if its backwards, what should you do???)

so my boss told the customer to turn the slide around. :D

(don't even get me started on taking passport pictures where people face the screen, so that we would take the picture of the back of thier heads... seriously... happens at least once a month!!!)
ow! my soul!

It seems to me that the current downtime is a recent developement that is a side effect of Space-Chan's zombification, it's her payback for being tossed aside!

But anyway, sure when I first came here, Keenspace had some server issues, but after a couple months, the server became extremely steady, and I seriously got much more down time from hotmail. Like I said, the recent downtime is temporary because of the damn zombies. And zombies, they starve to death after a while, and then everything will be right as rain again. Water rain though, not acid rain, because while while acid rain is the standard of the "real" world, it's just not right.

And no, not down time in a perverted way you bastards! Down like they've been sucker-punched by Superman through Hideiki Anno's eyes.
Someday, someday I'll finish Confabulation. That day is not today, however.

Combine stupid with religion!

I had a customer praise me for listening to a Christian radio station while working third shift at a convienence store.

I said something to the effect of, "Oh, is that what it is? It changes formats after Midnight."

I got cussed out left and right by the guy who stormed off WITHOUT HIS CHANGE FOR A TWENTY.

He came back in later sheepishly, appologized, and asked for his change back.

Yeah. I gave it to him.

You know, I've now seen a couple of instances when people are ripped apart because they voice their opinion on keenspace. It makes a bunch of people here sound like fanboys, it really does.

From my perspective as a reader of many keenspace comics, it's really annoying when it's down, and there have been a LOT of server problems over the past few months compared to any, and I do mean any, other site I frequent. I had come to expect that it'd be up for my viewing pleasure, as it says it will be, and so though I understand the problems of serving up something like this it's still annoying when it's down. Once in a blue moon is one thing, but it's been happening more often lately.

So what happens then? People complain. It's what they do. When someone sees that what they expected isn't so, they will complain, and sometimes rightly so. CG has said "come on over and we'll serve your comic for you". So, when they have so much difficulty doing what they said they'd do, people get pissed. They signed up with the expectation that the server would be stable, and when it turns out to not be stable for a prolonged period of time (and it doesn't have to just be offline to not be stable) then they will complain.

And they have every right to complain. They want a service that is stable. Everyone always cries "GO ELSEWHERE!" and "PAY FOR HOSTING!" but didn't the guy who's quoted here say that he was thinking of doing just that?

You all say "You get what you pay for", so why is it that you then jump on the back of someone who says "I want more, maybe I should leave"? It makes no sense! :P

What bothers me is when people say CG sucks because it's always unstable. That's not the case. Most of the time, it's great. But there's nothing wrong with someone saying "CG sucks right now" when it is, in fact, going through some tough times.

The one thing that bothered me about the BDK guy was his rip on Striker. In that he is showing his ignorance on the subject, but you can't really argue the fact that lately CG has been limping along somewhat. You can come up with whatever reasons for the injury, such as the whole domain name change (which is a valid reason) but that doesn't change the fact that there are bugs being worked out, and service isn't up to par with what you could get in many other places.

If you want to inform this guy of what the problems are, and assure him that it's being worked on and a fix is on the way, great. But countering "CG sucks" with "OMG, you retard, CG is awesome!" sounds like the frothing of a fanboy's mouth to me.

Maybe I overreacted a little but I still think it's very rude to make such comments pointing out certain people on a popular site (it is). It would be okay if put on a blog. Nobody reads them;)
But the main problem is pointless complaining mostly without offering any help or expecting a change. I sez: stop complaining, you'll live longer:]

Oh I totally agree with you on that. Unless you have direct evidence, don't accuse someone in particular. This guy was being an asshat saying what he did about Striker. If he KNEW though that he was screwing things up that'd be different, but we know better. Striker's doing as much as he can, and it's a lot of work for anyone, so that he's just whining about.

I'm just saying that not everyone who complains that CG is having difficulties is necessarily just a whiner. It has been having difficulties lately, and there's no getting around that.

I swear, after I read the post before yours I was thinking the exact same thing.

And I was vaguely disturbed about this entire posts' moral standpoint vs. blog-ranter-guy once I thought about it (which I did before sam's post...)... but... I did not want to miss an opportunity to bash people in general... That guy, as sam pointed out, isn't *really* being that rude.

To me, though, the "KS is down, in othe rnews, oxygen is breathable" thing... one, sarcasm, which isn't bad, but I sense a sting to it, so stingy sarcasm, which *is* uncalled for, and two, it's just... LAME sarcasm.

Are we still talking about this? We should have derailed this thread long ago.
