I made the mistake of wondering aloud at work if the Maxwell House Master Blend tried to round up the other coffees and place them in concentration camps.

Boy are barking up the wrong tree.

And quite frankly, if you can't find any kind of bomb schematics or instructions on the Internet, you have no business being a terrorist.

Now please leave before I call the AFI on you.
Faith is what credulity becomes when it finally achieves escape velocity from the constraints of terrestrial discourse- reasonableness, internal coherence, civility, and candor. Thus, the men who commited the atrocities of September 11 were neither cowards nor lunatics of any sort, but Men of Faith- perfect faith- and this, it must finally be acknowleged, is a terrible thing to be.

Filthy Lies would be a great name for a webcomic. But it's taken. By a webcomic.

Trust me on this: a dirty bomb is neither easy to build nor to smuggle into any country.

A dirty bomb is pretty easy to make. It's just any form of regular explosive designed to spread radioactive material over an area. They're not really anymore effective than normal bombs and just serve as a terror weapon against the uneducated public (fueled on by a sensationalist news team).
You could make one just using a large firework and some radioactive material. If you don't mind just irradiating your back garden.

I was just talking about this the other day with someone.

Yes, the dirty bomb's effect is meant to be psychological; the bomb itself doesn't do a lot of damage witht either the explosion or the radiation. But they know that most people hear the word "radiation" and immediately think of grainy footage of Japanese children with boils all over them.

For me, the mental picture is more of a bunch of Reindeer being butchered because they ate contaminated moss, and mushroom pickers having to ditch their hobby for a few years.

Chernobyl fallout.
It is still felt in Sweden, although not so often now as then.
I get depressed when I think of how it must still be felt closer to the actual place.

And unfortunately its the news and media that really makes the dirty bomb so effective, since they do such a poor job of clearing up just how inneffective it is at anything but intimidation. And at the same time they spread the news of such weapons so people don't think "dirty bomb? is that the kind made from manure" they think "F^$K!! My children will have gills and my skin will fall off!!"

OoOoo, Chernobyl, this lady has some nice photos of her rides through Pripyat (worst effected town) - she is a lady after my own heart; motorbikes, photography, war archeology... >happy sigh<

It's far easier to buy the wepons IN the U.S. than to try to smuggle them through the Mexican border, man. Remember our friend Bush allowed the automatic weapons ban to lapse this past september, so you can get whatever you want. Just ask Ricardo to forge you the weapon permits as well since he's already on the passports; it'll cost more, but money is no object, as you know.

Oh, and drop the college contacts. The U.S. government is watching all colleges like a hawk right now.
