Not that my comic gets a little dark.
hey there's"whats the use of getting sober when you are just gonna get drunk again?" by Louis Jordan *grinz*

I've never heard it, but it sounds like a country song, in which case... no. Can't do the country.

Country, no its jazz big band, by one of the most talented players from the 40's. If you've ever watched Tom And Jerry, they play a lot of Jordan on there. Its total Jive.

it was also covered by Joe Jackson.

I'll have to check that out. You have to admit, though, the name sounds very stereotypically country. Or rockabilly.

---Looks like I'm the only one going the symphonic route so far. :D There doesn't seem to be a way to attach images here, so I'll just do a track listing. I've tried to stick with one composer so as to add some consistency, and the style I feel fits the best is composed by David Newton Howard (though I also like James Horner and John Williams). Some of these pieces I've built story sequences around in the comic, others are for planned sequences yet to come, but all of them help to set the kind of theatrical tone I've tried to establish for the strip:

From Disney's 'Atlantis' (David Newton Howard):
1) The Submarine
2) The Leviathan
3) The Journey
4) Fireflies
5) The City of Atlantis
6) The Secret Swim
7) The Crystal Chamber

From Disney's 'Treasure Planet' (David Newton Howard):
1) To the Spaceport
2) Billy Bones
3) The Map
4) Silver
5) Ben
6) The Back Door
7) The Portal

From 'The Pagemaster' (James Horner):
1) Stormy Ride

yeah maybe a little cowboys and thier alcholism! I don't know much about country music really. Johnny Cash, and some of the really old players from around that time. but I couldn't really say how much anything sounds like county.. that is my flaw.. I know very little about Country and western music...

maybe I should study up... *looks around* yeah maybe staying ignorant if for the best.

I think I can safely say that not knowing about country music is not a flaw. The opposite, perhaps.

Haha! This thread is awesome! I've been posting a soundtrack for my comic since it started; each page has a song (which becomes the title of the comic in the archives) I was surprised that no other comic I'd seen had thought up this little gimmick...

Anyway, so far I've got:

The Ladder- Yes
Blue Grey Medley- ? (1860s folk medley)
Up The Ladder- Dune (Miniseries)
Post Parasite- Beyond Good and Evil (Videogame)
Boss After Mili- Beyond Good and Evil
Home Theme- Beyond Good and Evil
I'm So Glad- Cream
10- Mechwarrior (Videogame)
I Want to Tell You- The Beatles
Stutter Shark- Mechwarrior
My Wife- The Who
Taxman- The Beatles

And I'm trying to decide on this week's as I type.

Also, country music pains me. Bluegrass, etc is good, but modern country pop is just awful.

Not the only one; I just mix and match symphonic with sung tracks, but most are instrumentals :)

I already have enough chapters to fill a CD now:

Prologue: Building a Mystery (Sarah Mclaughlin)
1: Bulletproof (The Nields)
2: Star Man (David Bowie)
3: In Your Eyes (Peter Gabriel)
4: Boys Don't Cry (The Cure)
5: Learning to Fly (Tom Petty)
6: Particle Man (TMBG)
7: Devil With a Blue Dress On (Little Richard)
8: Safety Dance (Men Without Hats)
9: Season of the Witch (Donovan)
10: I'm a Believer (The Monkees)

Ack, can't list songs because..too many.

So I'm going to name the groups instead:

Juno Reactor, Prodigy, System of the Down, and a classical music here and there. Yes, it's strange that there is a bit of electronic music for something meant for fantasy, but my comic doesn't have JUST horses and wooden ships.

OH this is easy. Dehn and I already worked on this when we got back. It's basically all the videos we were constantly watching over seas so it's mainly a lot of european and arabic music so if you don't recognize some names it's time for you to search your butt off cause some of this stuff is really good. :)

Ich Troje - Babski swiat
Alizee - j'en ai marre
Nancy Agram - Ahasmak Ah
Coldplay - God Put a Smile On Your Face
Mezo - Mezocrakja*
Scooter - Maria (I like it loud)*
Nancy Agram - Ya Salam
Panjabi MC - Jogi
Bhangra Knights vs Husan - Husan
Caparezza - Il segundo segundo me
Music Monks - Seed
Jarabe de Paolo - Bonito

The songs with asterixes were songs that I actually hated but they were part of experience regardless.
The Fan: Action, Drama, Suspence...All at a comfortable room temperature. Yeah, it's still there. I'm as shocked as you are.

Pin is right! Without covers, there's no context for the songs.
