When you start dating everything with yyyymmdd even when you never intend to put it through autokeen.

I did this today, without even thinking about it. I had a five-paragraph writing excercise for National Novel Writing Month I wanted to keep, and when I saved it--it went under yyyymmdd.

weird.

I actually do my .docs here at work the same way. It seems to keep them organized better than any other system I can think of.

Drives everyone else nuts.

Think that's weird? Just the other day, I wrote "***chair***" on a piece of paper and then tried to sit on it while I ate my dinner. The ***salad*** was okay, but the ***steak*** was a little dry and papery.
Existence is a series of catastrophes through which everything barely but continually survives.

Ditto. Any file that has an important date associated with it like bios update images, ghost images, restored directories for users, etcetera goes under yyyymmdd.

I was used to yyyymmdd format from work (computer programming) long before I was on Keenspace - especially in 1999.

I forgot about the ghost images... I used to have to manage around 200 of those suckers. Ergh.

Time for a list from an old hand.

You know you've been on KeenSpace too long...

If you applied back in 2000, and kept your comic updated...

If you remember every crash that has happened to KeenSpace...

If you created the banner ads of the Schlock Crash...

If you asked Howard Taylor about using Schlock and renaming one of the servers to his character to begin with...

If you became a Space Wrangler...

If you first became a Space Wrangler, and then was asked to admin the box because the regular staff needed to take a load off of his plate...

If you remember when 'Space ran on Linux instead of FreeBSD...

If you remember when 'Space ran the origional AutoKeen instead of the SQL'ed UltraKeen, and used a flat-file database instead of MySQL...

If you remember how volitile that flat-file DB was..

And if you can find Nate or Gav's cell phone number in all the email you've gotten from them... (Nope, ain't telling, no use asking)

Oh, one other thing...

If you let Pete Abrams of Sluggy Freelance know about 'Spot's problem with advertisements because he was having problems reading Bruno the Bandit...
