I tought it was 5,000 miles. Still, War would walk almost twice as far.Skylark_King wrote:Well if you walk it, the Proclaimers will have nothing on you. They'll only go 1000.Digital War wrote:So what are peoples opinions on a distance of 9700 miles?
No, wait. Then they say they would walk 5000 more. So that makes 10,000.
Faith is what credulity becomes when it finally achieves escape velocity from the constraints of terrestrial discourse- reasonableness, internal coherence, civility, and candor. Thus, the men who commited the atrocities of September 11 were neither cowards nor lunatics of any sort, but Men of Faith- perfect faith- and this, it must finally be acknowleged, is a terrible thing to be.

I always kinda wondered about that song, though--I mean, walking five hundred miles? And then another five hundred? If he really loved her, he'd take a cab or catch a plane or something so he could get there faster. But no, he walks--which just goes to prove that he was putting off showing up at her place, trying to make up a good excuse for why he was so damn late.

unless he's poor and can't take a cab or plane. Personally I'd drive. I won't mind sleeping in the back seat at Wal-mart Parking lots if it got me closer to where I want to be.

I'm gonna be the man who wakes up next to you
When I go out, well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who goes along with you
If I get drunk, well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who gets drunk next to you
And if I haver, hey I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's havering to you
But I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles
To fall down at your door
When I'm working, yes I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's working hard for you
And when the money, comes in for the work I do
I'll pass almost every penny on to you
When I come home(When I come home), well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who comes back home to you
And if I grow old, well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's growing old with you
But I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles
To fall down at your door

When I'm lonely, well I know I'm gonna be

And when I'm dreaming, well I know I'm gonna dream
I'm gonna Dream about the day when I'm with you

That'd be a damn sight more interesting and entertaining than the American National Anthem, which everyone forgets the words to halfway though.
Really, the national anthem of any given nation has to have a chorus which drunken men can sing along to (though "sing" is used very loosely there) at sporting events and in bars.
Oh, if no one hears from me ever again, it's because Homeland Security saw this post, deemed me a terrorist threat, and came to take me away.
