For those who link to me...
Do you link to Hotel Grim because the comic is good or because you think I'm a swell guy? What I mean is... Did you link to the comic because of your interactions with me or because you actually READ the comic. Yes, these are insecurity issues that I must deal with.

I read the comic first. I started reading it after seeing you ask for feedback a few times, and each time you got a bunch of silliness in reply. When I read Hotel Grim, I decided it was so quirky and special that I had to give a serious response about why I liked the comic.
Then you bitched out Bobby Crosby and proved what a swell guy you were.

Actually, Sortelli, you're the one person that I knew for a fact liked the comic... You promote it for me constantly
thanks for that lots!
And as for the marathon bitch session... Did anyone ever go check out the thread on his forum where I got banned?

I found out about the comic through interacting with ya, Indy, and then I linked it because it was great. The two work together, you see. And now I read the comic all the time. So much that I notice the slightest typo... ^_^ hee. Sorry.

*shudder* I've only peeked at his forums once, where I noticed that he has that lame "Hate Pupkin" forum where he can get a big old head about everyone bitching about how lame his comic is within the controlled boundaries of his little forum... What happened?nd wrote:Actually, Sortelli, you're the one person that I knew for a fact liked the comic... You promote it for me constantlythanks for that lots!

Keda: Thanks for being my copy editor
Sortelli: He banned me fairly quickly. The thing I found odd is that almost no one defended him. And NOBODY even did that until after I was locked out.

I visited "Hotel Grim" because of your numerous posts at "AltBrand", and in the beginning, I hated it. Once you hit your stride, I realized this was a unique and possibly even special comic strip, and so I linked to it.
I don't care if you're the swellest guy in the world, I'm not going to link to your comic if I don't read it and enjoy it myself. There are plenty of folks here on the Keen forums that I like but whose comics I do not read. I don't engage in "link swapping" or automatic reciprocation of links because that defeats the purpose of having a damn link page in the first place.
Readers will judge your comic (consciously or no) by what you've chosen to link to, and I don't link to crap.
END OF FOOKIN' STORY!!

Makes sense... But why did you come back if you hated it?

I leave those strips in as sort of an acid test. They're still 3 of the most common exit pages too.

I like them too. I did them before I started Hotel Grim actually... when things got rough early on scheduling-wise between life and comic, I threw them up. And then my readers unanimously threw up. Oddly, almost no one that I heard from back then is still reading
My readaership would prolly be roughly twice what it is now (if not more) without them... It's definitely a rare circumstance where I would've been better off not updating, but I like them so they stay. And when I got mad at someone who jacked my plans for Halloween, I brought him back
