Is it someone who bonks animals, or is it someone who dresses up to have sex. OR is it someone who like the tentacle rape fans who just fantasize about anthromorphic animal/human type creatures.

I'm into the whole tentacle rape thing....that doesn't make me a furry does it.....you know cause its not human?

I'd really like to get my facts straight here.

Furry basically means humans with animal characteristics. Such as tails and ears. Possibly fur and maybe even a face that looks like the animal. (ie, cat, dog, or mongoose.

I suppose technically we all are anthropomorphic seeing as most humans tend to have at least some human characteristics.

I think there are as many definitions of “FURRY” as there is furries… I had been drawing comics with my anthropomorphic character for years before I even heard the word “furry” for the first time.

Basically, there are two definitions:

1- A FICTIONAL CHARACTER (i.e. Pinton the Pig) that is basically an animal, but exhibits human characteristics (hands, speech, upright walking) Of course, such creature doesn’t exist in real life (not yet) It’s a cartoon character. There are many different furry characters with different levels of balance between the human and the animal part.

2- A REAL HUMAN that calls himself a furry. That’s a person that likes to create a fictional ALTER EGO for himself, with animal characteristics. There are many varieties of this kind. From the ones that just like to use an animal picture as his avatar for online chat and role-play, to the ones who actually put on a fursuit. (Some time ago, I saw a guy in full dog suit happily walking around Miami Beach)

2-B And there is the perverts that actually have sex dressed as furries. (That’s the ones everyone saw in the infamous MTV show, which did spread so many misconceptions and false stereotypes about furries)

And…

3- People who have sexual intercourse with real animals. But that don’t have anything to do with furries. That’s called Zoophilia or Bestialism. Is a practice older than the Romans and Greeks, with several mentions in ancient history and mythology.

I'm what could be considered a 'furry' I write some (admittedly bit crap) stories baised upon Anthropomorphic Creatures such as foxes, cats, dogs etc... some of the time it's as innocent as say, being a fan of Bugs bunny or Disney cartoons, sometimes it's really freaky ohh like humping stuffed animals, (Note: I would never do that honestly, it looks like it could chaif). You get the really geeky ones who roleplay in MUDs as Animal people and I'll admit I fall into this catergory, and then you get the ones who yes, like to fantisize about screwing a walking talking anthro chick (or guy depending on what you like).

Did you even look in the gallery? I think it's more a case of deciding between which picture you like, and how naked do you want hir to be.

As for creeping out Ghastly....

The only time he's ever admitted to being creeped out was from something he saw on the realdoll site. It was the partial 'female' doll, the budget model that's trunkated at the waist and the top of the legs. So this one would be for guys who can only afford a pelvis, I guess.

My opinion about furry stuff is the same. I like reading/creating comics about furry characters but I don't dress in real life in a fur suit

Well, I have to confess; I bought a rubber pig nose once and went driving around all day with it. I love the expression of people's faces, specially the girl in Mc Donald’s drive-thru window. Does it make me a pervert?

I also like to glue horns to my forehead in Halloween, to be a Devil... Now that I think about it again, horns are animal's characteristics too...

My girlfriend and I were checking out a new adult store in our city and in the novelty room came across this two blow up dolls.

One was a sheep. Shaped like one (according to the photo), and not a sheep anthromorph and one (Tha Pig'll like) killed notty miss piggy. It didn't look like the Muppets Miss Piggy, but ah well. It had no picture of what it would look like inflated, though, and just a doodle.

*giggle* You know, reading this comic, it occured to me that I'd be the perfect pervert poster-child for the comic. I'm furry, I love tentacles, AND I've been known to pose with rocking horses and dog statues. And ogle the neighbor's doberman. Plushies? I'm not adverse to 'em. Fursuits? I'd be worried about my partner dying from heat exhaustion, but if they were OK I'd be game! BDSM? Bring it on baby! I'm a billion target fetishes rolled into one! Kill six birds with one stone! =D

Of course that'd mean even MORE straight-and-narrow furries would hate me for Bringing Perversity To The Fandom (or whatever)... but if I CARED I'd probably have shot myself by now.

Re: humans are furry because they have animal characteristics.... Sorry, that's derived from an incomplete definition. Anthropomorphism is applying human characteristics to non-human beings or things. A talking toaster is anthropomorphic. Furries are what you get when human characteristics are applied to non-human vertebrates, ideally in an appealing and/or non-horrific fashion, usually extending to a body covered in fur/scales/feathers and the appropriate facial features (muzzle, beak, ears). "Anime cat girls," beings with no other non-human characteristics other than ears & tail, are considered better than straight human, but not by much - in general, the more of a 50/50 blend you get, the better. Animal muzzles & ears are preferred, human faces are not.

Obligatory fan gushment: I adore the perv-friendly attitude of this comic. Huzzah for another creator who avoids the all-too-simple "hey lookit the weird people" slant and goes for "we IS weird people let's all have fun" slant!
