Hooray for ignorance. Let's drink something that tastes horrible and damages our livers. Let's pass out and brag about it, not knowing that was a bad thing.

Dude, what's wrong with some beer? I know most of it in America is swill, but Guinness is the bomb. And those Canadians know how to brew a decent drink. There's nothing wrong with casual drinking among friends, and there are many that can drink beer like Pepsi and have it not effect them. Frank (Damonk) comes to mind, or da Scrub.

Guiness goes nice with fish & chips. I'm not much of a beer drinker either, but Asahi Super Dry is good stuff.

Sure alcohol is bad for your liver, but compare the number of people with bad livers to the number of people with bad hearts from too much fast food.

I've only had off-camera drinking in Krakow:

Very true, in a lot of case. But it still largely depends on what beer you drink? If you're drinking American stuff like Bud or Coors, I pity you.

Actually I believe it was a Canadien (is that how you spell it?) or whatever... and I've been told that's the best.

This is not a topic for a small 17 year old like me!

Well, I wouldn't drink, anyway. I hate the taste of alcohol. Plus, the whole drunk thing? Not quite likin' that.

Yeah, well, beer is an acquired taste. If you hang out with Frank and Scrubs, it's a required one too. ;)

But you're right - drunk sucks. That's why I drink with Frankie, because he's immune to beer and can tell you when to stop drinking!

The best drinking song is 'The War of 1812' by the Arrogant Worms!

While I personally can't stand the stuff, most of my characters have a different opinion of the matter as shown in Drusialla's introduction piece:

http://bookwyrms.keenspace.com/d/20020610.html
http://bookwyrms.keenspace.com/d/20020612.html
http://bookwyrms.keenspace.com/d/20020614.html
http://bookwyrms.keenspace.com/d/20020617.html

No beer actually appears in the first strip, but it sets up the situation for the remaining three.

Dear God... What have I done...

This is not a thread to moralize about the evils of drink, but to point out some comics where Beer has played a part...

I'm not telling people to drink or what to drink... man I need a beer.

Not even the Free Guiness days they have about every month here can convert me to that dirt of a drink! Grrr!

Although my brother seems to love those free guiness days... Go to a pub, free pint! Go down the road, Another Free Pint! Come back, ask a different barmaid, another free pint!

I think eight was the most my brother managed to pull from one pub...

But I dislike the stuff! Evil irish drink! eEEVIL!

Scrumpy's my stuff, and Kronenbourg if I'm feeling cheap, or if I'm lucky one of the home German brews at the Blacksmith Arms.. But they closed down when the rent was put up by 400%... Humbug...

And alas, no beer has featured in my comic as of yet... Vodka will feature soon of course ^.^

Hey! John T, remember me? mwuahahah!

17? HAHAHA!!! I turn 14 today...

I've only taken sips of Rolling Rock, and that's about the only beer I'd drink.

Either that, or just go get a Coke.

It's not even about moral issues, it's about global coroporations feeding on our ignorance and selling us this product that they advertize to be some kind of nectar of the gods. Take a closer look next time you see a beer commercial...
