DnD

Post by ZOMBIE USER 10430 »

FYI: Dungeons and Dragons is now published by Wizards of the Coast. Most of the core rules (but not all) can be found in the System Reference Documents thanks to the open gaming lisence.

Redline: correct me if I'm wrong, but perhaps the reason that starches tend to take longer to induce energy buildup is bcos anything we eat must forst be converted into sugars that our bodies can directly metabolize...table sugar is that much closer to that "sugar", and so is absorbed faster...I've been around little kids in situations like this too, and seen the effect...it's even worse with chocolate, 'cuz then you get sugar AND caffeine acting in concert...*eep*...Moreover, I've found that starrches tend to be "heavy" foods, and take longer for the digestive system to pull apart, simpler molecules or no, simply because they are aligned in more rigid structures...Sugar is in tiny little grains with more surface area per unit volume exposed to stomach acids, hence, faster integration into the system.

In any case, if you wanna test it, try feeding chocolate cake to a horde of four-year-olds and see how long it takes before they are climbing the walls and frazzling your nerves >_<

oh yeh: I dislike DND 3rd ed because of its insane amounts of customizability. It comes out like the bulk of the Final Fantasy games (5~9 at least), where, with just a tiny bit of tweaking, every character is 99% identical, the only decision you need to make is who looks best. The Feats add just a bit too much homogenization to the game, I'd rather charas defined as specific roles...When I run games in any system, I like unique characters...and I do my best to avoid hack & slash adventures...case in point: I'm currently running a Rifts game (albeit toned-down, I hate the MDC system), and I've intro'd a recurring villain - made ...mostly...by the book - whom the PC's can't seem to defeat, despite his apparent profound lack of ability to actually do them harm...He just shows up from time to time and taunts them, not even attacking unless they do so first...Magic and muscle become pretty useless until they can figure out the one simple thing which can bypass this guy's defenses...I like making my players use their minds. ^_^

Having wishes and longings that you do not understand. Trying to cope with a world that doesn't seem your own. Ever wonder why you seem so out of place? Maybe in a world that doesn't believe in magick and fantasy. . . you don't feel like you belong.

So we feel like we don't belong, and most of the time why do we feel that? Even if people make genuine attempts to make friends with us we still don't feel accepted or that we belong. We belong somewhere . . . it's just a matter of. ...where

Well, this seems like a good place to start ^_^

...The line between fantasy and reality is a lot thinner than most ppl think it is...As for Magic(k), it's what you make of it...

Umm... is that the Elf Life I think it is?

There's an Adventurers section on the Elf Life forum too:

http://myib.ikonboard.com/elflife/

Oh wait... that is the link you posted. Didn't know it was a seperate site... on the old forum it was just a part of the EL forum.

ELA

Post by Ccelizic »

ELA was started on the keenspot boards, it was something initiated by Coota with some other people who were Elf Life Fans. It was intended to be an Elf Life based RP but wel... uhhhh... Elf Life really hasn't worked to much into it ;). More people jumped the bandwangon and eventually its became its own community thing.

The adventure forum was something Carsonfire started later on when he created the new Elf Life Forums as a place for his forum goers to RP in an attempt to boost popularity with the EL board.

Rubber chicken is what describes one of the objects that is in my possession.

Mari, was one of the writers for ELA and she is also a celebrity of sorts when she shows on #elflife.

Err uhhh

Sugar and pixies DO mix.

You see they shake so much its like a paint mixer. You could strap a bottle of italian dressing to one of those pixies and it WOULD mix.

Though this may be a very useful fact, you see this power could be harnessed for good.

I mean who needs cold fusion when one has pixies and sugar on hand?

Talking about cold fusion...

Hey, that just gave me an idea. This could power nuclear fision plants, all you have to do is sustitute the uranium for pixies and suger, and viola! Nuclear fision! Instead of reacting uranium atoms, suger-high pixies, think of the possibilities...

Now I'm severly put off trying to use pixies in a fision reactor :-? ...(ahh heck, they'd probably just start striking and demand actual pay  )

But then, of course, you would have to obtain signed contracts from Disney so you could use their copyrighted pixie-dust-flying-technique and VIP passports so you could actually go to Never Never Land. Damn these trademarks and their copyrights...
