Keen seems to have eaten my earlier post, which is probably all for the best, as I expressed surprise that anyone would be shocked by this blazingly obvious "revelation" and said some things which may have made people feel I was talking down at them. Ah well. I believe, though, that one must tread carefully, for one does not want Zan to wah-bamp anyone for saying things the wrong way, yes? Hey, if I were him, I'd already have snipped at some people for the things they posted, on comic and livejournal, and I can only commend his patience.

Oops. I just noticed who posted.... Yes. Well.... This is probably not helping the fact that Xavier already thinks I'm an uppity know it all who destroys people's naivite (which is probably still mispelled). What can I say? Darling, this is a subject on which you have to carefully choose your words, as what you say does matter to some people's feelings. And if you really think that it's better not to know or understand things, well, I still disagree. I think it's best to be fully informed. Hey, ya know, in this age of things like AIDS, naivite can kill you. Right? And it's ignorance that leads to stuff like homophobic hate crimes and murders, so, yes, I do my best to dispell it....

Wait people didn't know that Marius is trans? At the risk of being rude, I have to say I thought it was pretty obvious, what with the "school board wouldn't let him use the guys bathroom last year" comment and all. I mean, how else could that be interpreted? However, I'm always on the look out for that sort of thing.
Also Zan, I'm so happy that Marius is tranny. I've found, what, two other comics with transgendered characters? All I can say is yay.

Oh, and have I pimped Finder by Carla Speed McNeil here yet? It's a paper-type comic series, indie and all ya know, and one of my favorite things. I recommend it for anyone who's interested in gender and sexuality issues (though if I told you why or who it would ruin the plot some). Heck, I recommend it for anyone who's interested in anything cool, which I bet you cool people are. (And my other favorite comics are ElfQuest, Sandman, and Strangers In Paradise.)
