Hello there Bridgeway! Hello listeners to my radio show!
Well, when I heard my single "Daily Nightly" had gone to #1 on the Hot 100, I was excited. But when I heard it had reached #1 in YOUR city, I was stunned.
So as a way of saying thank you, I decided to come on over here and sing a bit!
Wow, you can see a lot from up here! ::looks::
Hey! I can see a McDonalds from here!
But anyway, here is the song that you felt was worthy of being #1 in your own town.
Thank you Bridgeway.
:: performs Daily Nightly by the Monkees::
Dark and rolling figures move
Through prisms of no color
Hand in hand they walk the night
But never know each other
Passioned pastel neon lights
Light up the jeweled traveler
Who, lost in scenes of smoke-filled dreams
Find questions, but no answers
Startled eyes that sometimes see
Phantasmagoric splendor
Pirouette down palsied path
With pennies for the vendor
Salvation's yours for just the time
It takes to pay the dancer
Once again, such anxious men
Find questions, but no answers
The night has gone
And taken its infractions
While saddened eyes
Hope there will be a next one
Sahara signs look down upon
A world that glitters glibly
And mountain sides put arms around
The unsuspecting city
Second hands that minds have slowed
Are moving even faster
Toward bringing down someone who's found
The questions, but no answers!
::bows::

What? An encore?! You wanna hear another song?
Why? Was the first song bad? ::chuckles::
Well, if you insist.
OK, this is one of my personal favorites. I know it's not summer yet, but hang in there! It's coming.
Here's Summer In the City by the Lovin' Spoonful!
Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty
Been down, isn't it a pity?
Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city
All around, people looking half dead
Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match
head
But at night it's a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come on, come on, and dance all night
Despite the heat, it'll be alright
And babe, don't you know it's a pity
That the days can't be like the nights
In the summer, in the city
In the summer, in the city
Cool town, evening in the city
Dressed so fine and looking so pretty
Cool cat, looking for a kitty
Gonna look in every corner of the city
Till I'm wheezing like a bus stop
Running up the stairs, gonna meet you on the rooftop
But at night it's a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come on, come on, and dance all night
Despite the heat, it'll be alright
And babe, don't you know it's a pity
That the days can't be like the nights
In the summer, in the city
In the summer, in the city

Bill's doing his broadcast from! If it were
from the New Grandville Restaurant, that
wouldn't be too much of a surprise, but if
he were within sight of Avariss Industries...
O_O
Don't worry Gene! I'm on the other side of town. I can't see the building anywhere! I made sure of that beforehand.
But don't worry. Those were the only two songs I did. I'm off the roof now.

I can't say what Bill's answer will be, but I understand that on some nights, when the wind is just right, one can hear a distant scraping sound, as of someone gnashing his teeth in sheer frustrated aggravation.Quoth the genecatlow:
Well, how did it go? What was the reaction in
Bridgeway to your broadcast?

Very nice, very nice! ^^
I've got to try that sometime . . .
In fact, I just wrote a song this afternoon . . . although I'm a bit iffy on the tune, I've got a pretty good idea. The tune is kind of like one of those songs you hear on those "Awesome Eighties" commercials.
Ah, what the hell. *I flutter up to the rooftop*
This I call "(I've Gotta) Be My Hero". *clears throat*
When I wake up each morning
And stand up, welcome the day
I wonder how it'll be going
What I'm doing today
I can't stay and do nothing
Even if I'm wrong
I can't let others run this life
I can't let people sing my song
For me
I've gotta make my own message, baby
Make it up as I go
I can't let people make my life
I've gotta be my hero
If you'll come with me
I'll let you stand by my side
If you'll follow my road
I'd walk with you, with pride
But you can't take my life
I'm not semper fi*
To people who want to control me,
Because
((In this, "fi" sounds like "fye", not "fee"))
I've gotta make my own message, baby
Make it up as I go
I can't let others make my life
I've gotta be my hero.
(Instrumental interlude, mainly using synthesizer-sound)
*quietly*
You can't say that you haven't felt it
The call to be alive
It's not something you can ignore
It's not something to deny
*regular volume*
I'm never gonna be the slave
I'm not a doormat, never was
My life's worth too much to be given up
I'm never ever gonna bow, because
I've gotta make my own message
Make it up as I go
I can't let others make my life
I've gotta be my hero
*same tune as chorus until the third line*
Havve you made your own message?
Or is your freedom so-so?
You can't let others keep you in their hand for all tiiiime . . .
Hero!
I've gotta make my own message, baby
I'll make it up as I go
I can't let others make my life . . .
I've gotta be my hero!
I hope you enjoyed that . . . sorry for taking the spotlight, although it's already been left, I suppose. ^^;
I liked your performance, Bill, and I hope mine was as good as to equal it.
