New characters and new designs?

Whatcha think of the new charcter and new designs?

So far we've managed to redo the 3 girls. Why? I suspect it's because of the boobs. Boobs are fun to draw.

Kat : The new cat looks more worldy than old cat. She isn't wearing cast of rags. This suggests to me that she's a little more on top of things and maybe a little less clueless. Or that our comic has finally hired somebody to do wardrobes for the characters. All in all, a nice chage.

Toniku : Okay, here is a radical departure in character. From what we've seen, Toniku went from a 12 year old bunny girl to a 25 year old evil villaness mastermind! And check out the dramatic boob inking Trout did! We'll have to see how she integrates with the rest of the group. Are you sensing a dramatic increase in the evil quotent of the strip?

Rifle : He's mobile! And can spout cliched phrases and song lyrics! And has space marine jump armor! Sweet christ, YOBF may have some competition! I'm not sure how Jean-Luc will take it, either. He's used to having the biggest bang for your buck.

Aika : I did the redesign, so of course I like it. She got Alien and Ranma 1/2 CNA (look at <a href="http://comicollage.keenspace.com/d/20020311.html">this strip</a> for an explination of Cartoonucleic Acid and gentics in cartoon characters) mixed in. She is now excessively strong, has acidic blood, and will have <a href="http://comicollage.keenspace.com/d/2002 ... ml">morons falling in love with her left and right.</a> (And Chris, if you are reading this, just remember you're our favorite moron!) Whether she's affected by hot and cold water (ala Ramna 1/2) is still unknown.

My opinion : All the redeisgns are cool! BECAUSE THEY ENHANCE THE BOOB FACTOR! And cause they are cool.

On to the new character! Kipinator has finally introduced us to his character.

Arghezi : Some sort of winged demon wrapped in toilet paper who is way to emo for his own good. I'm sure Kip intended him to be gloomy and horrifying (which Kip does REALLY well! If you don't believe me, read <a href="http://receptorfatigue.keenspace.com">his comic</a> and see!) but the comedic gold of a demon who listens to emo music and gripes about the good old days when kids respected their elder evils of the world is well worth what a pain in the ass all those chin horns will be to draw.

I don't know about the OTHER comicollagers, but I'm getting excited about where things are going. Excited I say!

I want to see how Haley turns out. He's my second favorite character (my first being Aika.) So yeah... I must flee!

I'll bet that makes Shay feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Poor Haley seems kind of neglected. Even though *I* like him. Of course, isn't he still in clone limbo? Cripes, even the artists of this comic are lost!

Remember when the characters got a change of waredrobe? The only person that kept their new clothes was Haley.
And what's up with the toilet paper?

Maybe like half of them will stay the same, and half will get decapitated by Your Own Best Friend and they'll have to be cloned again or something. "Being repetitive is our job! It's our job! Our job!"

What's up with the toilet paper? Well, most gargoyle/demon creatures you run into don't wear clothes, but I didn't want to A) draw Arghezi without genitals, because that would look freaky B) draw him with genitals, because this is a fun, family comic for all ages. Sorta.

Kat had already done the ripped clothes thing, so I though mummy-like wrappings that only went waist high, a la some sort of leather bondage corset, would look spiffy. I still think it looks spiffy, and if you think it looks like toilet paper, I think that says more about what's on your mind than anything.

Poopyhead.

I like new looks we've seen so far, but I don't think there's any reason everybody should be forced to redesign their characters if they don't want to. And with the dream-within-a-dream-within-a-where-the-hell-are-we-now plot happening, who's to say whether or not the originals were actually killed off? We've already seen Jean-Luc show up, unmodified, after YOBF woke up. I'd like to imagine that usually I have enough of a grasp of what's going on to tie all the tangents together when it's my turn, if I want to, but even this stuff is making my head spin.

But in a good way.
