I'm not really as shocked by this as I could've been. Well, maybe shocked isn't the right word, I am shocked. I guess I'm not really that upset about it. We all knew this was coming but we didn't know when. Plus, I've always been a Rumy/Rikk shipper (r/rs? I'll hafta look into my code) at heart and as much fun as alisin is I secretly resent her for personal reasons.
All I can think of is that we're getting closer to the a/u fans (which we may hafta just call future fans soon). I've seen plenty of couples form after two friends help grieve the loss of their s/os. In fact, one couple at my church got into the local papers for marrying at the age of 80. They'd both known each other for decades and about 6 months or a year (not sure) after Arnold's wife died they got married. I guess they just didn't want to be alone at the end and were there for each other. Rather nice I think. I hope that Rumy and Rikk are that way, I just hope that Rumy gets someone better than Big Red to lose.

Y'know.. this will probably get me shot..
I don't think that Rumi and Rikk would make a very good couple. Yes, I know she pines for him, but what kind of evidence do we have that they'd make better lovers than friends?
Yes, Rikk has helped Rumi's self-image inadvertantly, and he's provided an example for her, true. I would even say that he's become her hero. Therein lies the problem. Dating one's hero can be.. disillusioning. I think it's almost better for them both for this love relationship to exist only in the confines of Rumi's head.

Everyone seems to be assuming that it's a forgone conclusion that Alison won't make it.
With artifacts like their Rings , the 23-sider of power and who-knows-what in the FIBs secret base (presumably detailed in that folder Kath's reading...), what will Rikk not be willing to attempt, to sacrifice, to save his wife?
I'm willing to bet she tries to hide it from him for as long as possible, though.

You know, I hadn't thought of that. Jones could've given them the "Dumb Secrets" to a base that Jones actually wanted shut down. Transferring several key prisoners there to get the Fans attention on the complex and maybe some clues to that cure. Then he sits back at BU and watches them go and make mincemeat of an upstart rival. Classic Jones. On 2002-03-01 08:17, Vitriol wrote:

From what I remember of T's first comments on Alisin (before the "dark screens", before the Keenspace) she will probably die. T once referred to her as the "minor character that wouldn't stay minor" or some such nonsense. In T's master plan she has a place, and I believe that place is of the dead loved one that spurns her lover onward as a martyr spurs a cause.
I'm still not sure whether or not Alisin's going to die of the disease of course. Heck, she could try and hunt down some rare and dangerous fiend that the FIB's "Dumb Secrets" say escaped just in the hopes that it takes her out (which would be even more ironic if she suceeds only because Rikk tracked her down with the Fans and they all killed it).

Ah... everything is spiraling down now. Rumy and Rikk are getting closer (Which is something i'm not too happy about, I support Wish's view on the matter but knowing that Rumy knows that Rikk has his downside)and next week the mysterious "General" will be coming.... I'm now expecting the continuation of this saga with a mixture of hope, dread and fascination... sorta like a small kid watching an horror movie late at night and covering his eves when the suspense music plays on, and taking a peep between his closed fingers as the scene draws closer... closer...(insert "Psycho" theme here, please).

I think that the scariest thing T can do to us is make next week just another part of the storyline with the main cast.
That way he can just sit there with an evil grin as we all freak out about who was in what panel first and who said something that indicated THEY will be the general.
For T is an eeeeeeevil comic writer.
Greg is the Editor of evil, so would that make him less evil, or more evil. The diet coke of evil? The "inker" of evil?
OK I know that inker doesn't apply to an edito because they're both two different comic book positions but I just wanted to make the Chasing Amy ref OK?
