Well, yes, I do wish that too, but I don't really like to manifest it... Keeping a regular schedule in a comic requires a great deal of dedication, and I don't feel comfortable to request something that represents even more of it.
On a side note, since this thread is related to "wishing"... If Ernie is ever going to give any explanation about the Canovian language, can I be there to listen and ask convenient questions?
I'm really into languages, I wouldn't want to lose that!
By the way, I'm a quite challenging asker, some teachers from my past hate me because of it! Well, they didn't really hate me, but they tried to discourage me from asking more questions to them by acting this way. These were the good teachers. The bad teachers didn't completely answer my questions and made me lose interest on them.

Ooh! I hope I am not butting in here, but...I have just been wondering about Ernie and the Canovian language as well. You see, I am a programmer, and have learned some language theory...
Are they going to keep this a secret? Can he give academic talks on it? I'd like to see that too, Ekevu! If Furriston's college is not already popular among researchers around the world, it soon would be.

You've learned language theory? *checks his college program* Apparently I don't have anything like that 'till I graduate...On 2002-02-22 17:01, mellotron wrote:

But I did have some language theory while I was still at Social Communication... Indeed, it was my fave class!

Yes, that's true. The only comic that was still in the status of never having missed an update was 1/0... And it lost it about a month ago.On 2002-02-22 17:13, Consul wrote:

I like a slow and solid strip much better than a daily one that every two weeks apologises for not having a strip today.

I had a comic, called Life by Design. I don't even know if any of it's still up, but it was at http://lifebydesign.keenspace.com.
My art skills were seriously lacking, but I made an honest effort. I finally ended up bogged down in other, more important projects that took up all of my workspace and time. So, it ended, right before I drew what I thought was my greatest comic idea to date.
Someday, I may be able to continue, though.

I don't know... Speed is important? Does the story have an end? Or you're worried with abusing interludes? On 2002-02-24 17:23, genecatlow wrote:

*chuckles* You might change your mind if you ever meet me live. So that you can have an idea, one day I talked to a friend who is an asker like me (actually he's even a bit more) into doing with me a hardware course. We asked him every detail of every technology. When we were in 2/3 of the course, the teacher came into the class and said, "we are not gonna have breaks anymore because I've had to reply so many questions, our program is late." Then the whole class looked at us!!!As far as I'm concerned, there's never any

a look at someone's work - it doesn't guarantee
that I'll like it, but I'm always curious to
see how someone with enough creativity to
start a comic will bring it to life. (My big
problem is trying to read all the online comics
I like and still have time to draw MINE!)

yes - though the comic won't (or shouldn't)!
Speed is important only in that I have to
strike a balance between inclusion of important
detail and not being didactic and boring.

Hey. lengthen the class, I say. Or have the
curriculum improved and get more/better
teachers. Practically nowhere else in the
world will people seemingly accept less from
those they hire to do a job than in education.
If a car mechanic doesn't fix your car properly,
you go back to the garage and take action. If
a doctor doesn't diagnose your illness correctly,
you sue for malpractice. But let a school do
a poor job of teaching and it gets disregarded?
I worried my teachers to death when I was in
college and I'd do it again. That was their
job - to teach me. I'm sure evaluated strictly
on how well I do *my* job. >=)

Hey, it's not like it takes that long. My strip count is currently at 10-26-28 (min-max-total). I take up to 20 minutes to read them all in the end of the afternoon. It's not that hard. How many strips do you read?On 2002-02-25 19:44, genecatlow wrote:

The teacher did say he thinks it was too little time for too much stuff. But he couldn't change it himself. And he was a good teacher, one of the best I've ever had, if not the best. If you think about it, he said there wouldn't be any more breaks, not questions. We didn't quite stop.Hey. lengthen the class, I say. Or have the
