Okay. Apparantly it sucks.
I've only sold 4 items so far, and all of them with the group shot.
So tell me folks, why does it suck?
-Is it the pictures? Should I replace some of them? All of them?
-Is it the items? Are these things just stuff you don't want to buy?
-Is it the prices? Cause in that case TOUGH. I barely make any profit off of these anyways. ^_~
I'm not totally opposed to making new shirt designs, so gimme your suggestions!
(But don't get mad if I don't use em, I'm a finicky bastard.) ^_^

I would buy stuff for fog club but I havent any money. My suggestion is you give me one for free. But knowing you, youll just hit me and tell me no. ....yup. The shirt designs are fine, and the price is okay...so I dont really know why you wouldnt be selling. The end.
One would think that to be insane....im tired of writing this.
*coughcoughcough*trifan*coughcoughcough* ;D
Seriously, I'm a poor, un-paid fogclub addict (if only I could be paid for being a fogclub addict ;D)... and a cheap bastard at that.. but I would so buy Trifan piece of.. uh.. fogclub-ish merchandise. I dont' need to go to college! ;D
And I know at least one other person would buy one with me--that'd increase the number of items sold by 50%! ... please don't hurt me.

Go for the logo... logowear is the way to go. Think in terms of tshirt design. Don't offer "everything" in "every form". Try for say, the fog t-shirts with everyone on them, but then do some specific things.
Example... trifan, which everyone seems so fond of.
Make the front a small logo (like upper left corner) of the FOGADV logo, and then on the back the trifan and a caption in the Runic MT font that says "Go ahead, have an adventure..."
It's all about shirts that scream attitude.
Maybe even do a comic shirt? Maybe take one of the best comic panes and put it on the front of the shirt with the FOG logo on the back?
Just some ideas...

Interesting points.
First off. I really doubt the F.O.G.Club Adventure logo is really trademarkalbe/logo-ish. But what ever works.
Secondly. I have some possible ideas for Trifan-esque shirts. They'd just be spoilerific, and I don't wan't to make any till we get to a point in the story where everything on the shirt has been revealed.
Any other comments?

Okay, here goes....
I bought 2 of those 4 items, a Shirt and a hat. I'd have bought a different hat, but options on the hats are limited. I'd say give those some designs, like a picture of Scott on the front athe "Want to have an adventure?" around the space in the back.
Shirts, however, just have an issue of people want to get one that has all the characters before they get individual ones. That's how I feel, anyway.
I'd like to get a shirt that had something interesting on it, like the dream or Scott in his Omnimon outfit. That would be cool.
Trifan would be nice as well.
Or, you could just wait a little while for them to finish Keenshop, which it going to have better pricerates and customability (or so they tell me)
Does that help?

OK, I don't have money right now to buy that many things. I'm limiting myself to two goodies per chack and that may just be too much.
However I do plan on buying a Kevin shirt or a group shirt. I liked the designs and saw them coming a mile (or month?) away.
As far as other designs, perhaps specific frames or comics would be good. I personally would love the early Tomo-esque shots of Amadeus, especially the one where he laughs, pauses, and revels in his evil. That'd be especially good if you can get the images on black T-Shirts. Heck, I think that an Amadeus shirt would be awsome on it's own, especially if it had some words.
Also, I think that you could work in all your references into any strips that would cause problems (Trifan might catch some lawyer's attention you know) with a quick notification for Copyright. I dunno.....
I also have to agree with the long hair comment. I'm usually weaing a jacket or overshirt and as such only the front of my shirt is visible. I also have a pony tail for when fashion is not the problem. A lot of people put catchy slogans up there that get hidden, like "Beware Global Robot Domination" on my __________ shirt.
Guess the __________ and get a cookie with sprionkles!

hi!
hrmnrm... lesse... no, $15 isn't bad. However the limited selection of items is kinda not cool. personally I would never buy a hat, and I hate those plastic mousepads (only the rubber/fabric ones for me thx!). I have an interesting idea for a shirt though. Make a really cool Terminator style image of one of the imposter robots, preferably Scott, and put it real big on the front. Make it look as diabolical as possible, with half the face torn off, and mean gleam in it's eye. and then on the back, have the strip where Amadeus gloats in the dark laughing a lot, then he says "damn, I'm evil". NOTE: It seems like adding "want to have an adventure?" to this shirt would be kinda cheesy at best, utterly stupid at worst. so you might want to think of a better slogan on this one.
Also, what is trifan? BTW, I'm not a forum type person, so I doubt I'll be back to read any replies. If you like my ideas, or have any comments, please email me at cfuller603@aol.com
P.S. Working my way towards buying something. Try getting some better stuff first, and then I'll put some chips on the table!

I generally don't go to the online comic stores because I'm broke and can't buy anything. So I checked out YOUR store so I had an idea, and the fact that there is only one choic of image isn't the greatest.
For Trifan pics, if you don't want to give anything away, why don't you start with that chapter title pic. You know the one of Scott in the Vash Pose? Oh, and you don't NEED to colour it, I think it looks good as it is... And maybe a full pic of Kevin in his preacher outfit. You don't need to release anything until you've put it in your comic.
And offer a bit more selection in types of poses you can get on the shirt. I personally don't like the idea of a small little image of one character in the middle of a shirt I'm wearing, it's weird. Put the image off-center, maybe over to the left side and it would be less weird.
You note that I don't ask for you to enlarge it *wink* I can guess that it costs a bit as it is to make, so just moving the position is good.

You folks are all giving Cafe Press more credit than they deserve. You can't do a whole lot of image manipulation on those shirts. 8 1/2 by 11 image on the center of the shirt in the front. Center or across the shoulders on the back, those are the only options.

Cafepress is a loada donkey dung. It realy is. They charge to much for too little...
The best bet is to, for the most prt, switch some images around and then go to Keenshop once they open.... they've promised, at the least, better prices than Cafepress for keenartists.

It will be...
Oh, it will be....
otherwise, what's the point? They need us to sell the stuff so they can get the money and get rid of some od the banner ads.
Circle of money, my friend, circle of money. I'd say just change some of the single person shots for now... the shots are nice, but ot something I'd want on a shirt.

I'm kinda...poor and in debt and waiting to get a job, so...I uh...can't really afford to buy anything anywhere.
From what I saw, though, quite nice.
You may consider coffee cups? I don't know, it just seems like it would be cool to have a coffee cup with the fogclub cast on it, though printing up a coffee cup could be rather expensive...
About your troubles with Cafepress, have you considered, since you are serious about selling things, going to an outside print press and asking them for estimates? Just look in your local yellow pages for print shops and call them up. You can meet with the managers and show them what you want to do and get some pricing estimates. Prices per unit go down after the first thousand, generally, but you may want to estimate your demand first.
I'm kinda...just learning how to do this. I had to get some bogus price estimates on a greeting card I designed for one my college classes, puuu. I, myself, am not serious about selling my stuff yet, except for some freelance logo designs I'm doing for people.
Quar Magnus: I'm too scary to appear on a tee shirt!
Me: Yes, yes you are!

Yeessssss, a shirt with Scott in the Vash Pose! Or with Kevin in his preacher outfit! I'd DEFINATELY spend my money on those! ^_^ Even if they aren't colored. Like Terra said, they look good as is. ^_^On 2002-02-25 05:24, Terra wrote:

Also a shirt that I would buy: one that has the strip where Scott gets his memory back and sends Kevin flying! That was awesome! ^_^
Just my opinions. ^^
