No, not only do your background textures and attention to detail and line call to mind his visual artistry, but I think a good number of your comic lines have captured the same sort of wry ennui, that droll macabre humour, the fascination with what others might call grotesque, that so permeated so many of his works. I find the panels that deal with the nuclear Grimble family (Mom, Dad, daughter and Evil Doctor Grandfather, sorry, I'm at a loss for names at the moment) are especially good, but the whole family's a hoot.All that, AND you used 'onomatopoeia' in a comic, which is kind of like rhyming 'orange'. So, I take my hat off to you, as I call it a most deserved compliment, and heartily encourage you to keep up the excellent work.Flinx(ooh, I feel a sig coming on...

Uh, just a little thing really, I mean, your still like a God to me and all Burke, but shouldn't it be "...but my DAMNED outer beauty", instead of "...but my DAMED outer beauty"? Or is that like a play on words? ------------------

That a lot of your art, for me at least, evokes the best of Edward Gorey (may his gloomy soul rest in creative bliss). And in my book, that makes you rock. (ooh, a Grimbles abecedary... THAT would be fun to see...)Flinx

Besides Addams and Gorey, burke's work
occasionally reminds me of classic Max Fleischer...
really early, fluid stuff.And Thursday's grimbles was another great one...------------------
