Hello everyone, this is Emi's long-suffering mother (heh heh). Emi was profiled in the local paper for her work on There Be Elves. You can read the article online from this link: http://www.roanoke.com/roatimes/news/st ... 30.html
I hope Emi doesn't mind my posting it here. Also, I went and downloaded the mascot utility and now I have Mayuki perched on all my computer's windows! Mayuki is my favorite character, because she reminds me of Emi (physically). Those of you who don't yet have your very own Mayuki Mascot, go the the "Files" link on TBE.
Also, while I am posting, I LOVE "The Elf and I" strip. I'm sure you guys have checked it out already.
As you know, I am very proud of Emiko, and so pleased with how much her readers love the strip and characters. You all make her so happy! Thanks to everyone...and happy holidays to each of you.

One with Emi and one with Tally and one with Milly and one with Sevvy and one with Saisai and one with Baibai and one with Daidai and one with...
Feodor: Creative nicknames, no? *sniggers*
Em: *whaps Feodor* Quiet, you. :P Hey! How about a mascot of me that whaps Feodor when you click it?
Feodor: *pales*

As uaual, Em, your brain is racing faster than your internal clock. Start on the Emi sitter, puh-leeze.
What if Jem pops up from behind you and throws money around? hee hee hee! (Her brother has always been the type to squirrel his money away).
Anyway, thanks, sweetie, er, I mean, Supreme Creator of Greatness. Can't wait!

Hi again, Em's mom!
Yes, I went and read the article. It's very nice to be recognized for something that you love doing. Congrats, Em!
Yes, I have been reading the Elf and I. It updated just today, didn't it? A very interesting idea, though really, from what I've been hearing from Em in the past few months, it doesn't surprise me much at all.
Quite frankly, I've got Hirschril sitting on my windows.

Yes, Gillikin, I am aware of your obsession with Hirshel and also Talia, as is most of the western hemisphere. (!)
Just kidding, of course. You would understand, then, how nice it is to have a bit of my daughter on all my web windows all day (I work on a computer all day). Before she leaves for college, I must get her to make me a real cartoon version of herself so I can have her with me while she is off making her mark on the world. (begins plotting, calculating birthday and Mother's Day...hmmm...doable, for sure).
I am sure she would make the character stick its tongue out at me, wave around huge sticks, and go Chibi, crying "Waaaaa" just like she does in real life (well, she used to) (Up until a month ago...hee hee hee!)

All right Emi! You got articled! ::giggles:: That is really wonderful. I never realized how much of an over-acheiver you are. And I thought I was bad. ::rolls eyes:: I bow down to the queen of web comics and over acheiving. ::bow bow bow:: Hehe, anyways, keep up the good work and like I've said before, if you need any help in the coloring department, just let me know. In fact, if no one else has gotten it, can I do the next guest coloring piece? Pleeeaaassseee???
