I had my horrible run-in with that experience last year, when I was a freshman in high school. Standing up for a friend who was getting beaten on by some seniors worked, but really just directed the fight toward me... I got the crap beaten out of me badly, but I took it so well that I became something of a small hero in my school for a little while...<P>Interesting, how Murphy's law can sometimes give you chocolate cake.
