Just remember: a bomb shelter actually wouldn't help you. The heat inside the shelter would increase to the point where the damn thing would turn into a crematorium. Encouraging the building of <A HREF="http://www.fas.org/nuke/trinity/civildef/" TARGET=_blank>shelters</A> was a very bad idea, since it made people think they were safe, and become a lot more comfortable with the idea of a Nuclear Holocaust.<P>Remember: this from the same era as the <A HREF="http://www.fas.org/nuke/trinity/civildef/duckncvr.htm" TARGET=_blank>Duck</A> <A HREF="http://www.spellshocked.com/mfreid/cd.htm" TARGET=_blank>andCover</A> videos. Apparently, the pentagon developed an A-Bomb-resistent desk in the fifties.

I'm about 20 miles from the mountains. My car could go about +100mph if the need arised<P>that's 1.6 miles per minute<P>So it will take me 12.5 minutes to get to relative safety (Deer Creek Canyon).<P>Assuming there is no traffic Jam and assuming I don't slow down to change the radio station or pop in my Dr. Strangelove CD
