I'm not entirely sure he's referring to Sept. 11. First, he's talking about attacks on America made by Americans (and he calls them "subversive"). Second, IIRC, T had at least the title for this stage of the storyline chosen at the end of "Mad Science", which was back in August.

Check Amazon.com or something.We did have a Fen-vs-everyone-else kind of plot WAY back in the first storyline (The Fandom Menace) in which a political candidate tried to use us as a scapegoat for all the world's ills. To me, the biggest problem here is the unwillingness to accept any kind of dissenting voice during a time of conflict. Unlike the more conventional military wars in the past, it looks like the struggle against international terrorism will be an ongoing one. This makes the silencing of alternative voices particularly disturbing. I'm interested to see what T plans on doing with this and how Mr. Jones tries to use security concerns for his own goals. Yes.As you can probably tell by today's installment, we're in a whole 'nother world here. The fact that many people could NOT tell this from the first strip... which pretty much OUTLAWS such works as 1984, BRAVE NEW WORLD, ANIMAL FARM, STAR TREK, BABYLON 5, STAR WARS, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND, and GATTACA, just to name some off the top of my head... the fact that people considered this a plausible extrapolation of OUR world is definitely, uhhhm, food for thought.

He was fretting about his visibility Oddly enough, what comes to mind for me is the 'Days of Future Past' story arc from X-Men (even moreso than The Terminator, or any other prior story of that sort). Somehow, the people of this world are going to get in touch with those of the FAANiverse... or do they? I'm not about to try to second-guess T, as that is just too obvious a move. All we can do is wait.Interesting that Thack is... here. He seems almost a beaten man, as does Rikk. Not that Rumi and Rikk are together, and Thack seems to be with Stephanie. And notice, too, who is missing: Tim, Will, Kath, Guthrie, Shanna, all the ones who would have been taken away long ago, or else been co-opted already. The one reading may or may not be the Storyteller from the Vampire game, but I'm not sure.Note that Shanna would not have been co-opted, I think... there's been hints along the way that FIB fear her for more than just being a journalist. I have the sneaking suspicion that Shanna's going to turn out to be, potentially, one hell of a powerful adept - if she ever let's herself be.------------------

And Rikk seems more... child-like?The AoA's biggest strength was the way it allowed Marvel to explore the characters in their universe in different ways. Perhaps this is what T is doing in this case. He's in good company............in an evil sorta way.Anyway with the thing called "Time of War" and all I'm just waiting for the battlelines to be drawn.
