Possibly controversial post from a suicidal newbie....
It may just be my inner Rumi/Rikk shipper coming through, but is anyone else seriously not loving Alisin in the latest sequence? She seems to have lost her amusing craziness and amorousness and substituted irritating and possessive craziness and amorousness.
Keith
PS - I take my non-existent hat off to the creators of the strip for this fantastic piece of work! (I've read the whole archive.)
------------------

I'd say that Alisin's reaction is perfectly natural. If you know that someone has feelings for your boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife whatever, you're going to get defensive. (Although the magnitude differs from person to person)
Oh, and welcome to the boards Keith!
[This message has been edited by Red Viking (edited 11-19-2001).]

Hey, welcome aboard Keith! Nope, your post wasn't controversial, and good insight, and any insight at all for that matter, into the comic is always encouraged and appreciated.
Yep, it is pretty understandable that Alisin is defensive, considering Rikk is probably the best thing to enter her life. She did come off a little harsh to me though. Actually, she seems a little confused by Rumy's reaction, and could be more annoyed at the fact that she was just acting weird, and hurt Rikk (Ah irony. I guess only she can do that). "Th' hell's y'r Problem Butch?"
Bah, I feel bad for Rumy. It seems to me that she has let her feelings out, and can't push them back in. Hopefully she will get something to kick soon. Perhaps Stu.
[This message has been edited by Doublespeak (edited 11-19-2001).]

"Th' hell's y'r PROBLEM, Butch?"
Rumy yearns, Alisin burns. Rumy pines, Alisin entwines. Alisin knows that Rumy seems to have it in for her, but since Rumy hasn't ripped off her shirt in front of Rikk or attacked him with whips and chains in a forest, Alisin can't quite put her finger on WHY.
(Remember, Alisin wasn't in the room when Rumy apologized for being jealous...)
Hmmm...her annoyingness, for me, started right at the beginning of 'New Faces', before Rumy reappeared. She seems to have regressed from fitting well into the group to not fitting.
------------------

I could see Ru winding up with either Tim, though.
Best case scenario (for R&R shippers, anyway)... Meighan starts hitting on Alisin, maybe jokingly, maybe seriously. Regardless, after a bit of thought, Alisin decides it's been a long while since she tried that and agrees, thinking Rikk will never find out. Rikk finds out. Crushed and angered, he says some nasty things; Alisin (who is never one to take stuff like that) replies with something along the lines of "Meighan's better than you ever were" or something equally harsh and storms out in a huff (maybe dragging Meighan along). Rikk thinks the marriage is over, leaving Rumy the opening she needs! By the time Alisin cools off and returns after a few weeks, Rikk and Rumy are sitting at Taco Bell with Rikk demanding better service... wait, that's someone else. But you get the idea.

Twice: Todd, and the xenochicklet. And she seems to be dealing with it, albeit a bit poorly, but at least she's not denying it or trying to get between them or anything.

When did Alisin fit well into the group?
I must have missed that episode...
