Could work, I suppose.
It's times like this I wish I worked digital, just open a new layer and experiment, also there's probably some fancy filter effect that could do all those lines in a few moments instead of an hour of ruling.

Wasn't there a superheroine with ability to turn sound into light? You could track her down and get a few tricks from her.
Otherwise lens flares. Cause if you look at her, it's like looking at lamp, and then there's a few flares on camera or something. Just figure out how to do them with ink.

Dazzler, from X-Men turned sound into light and energy crackles. Came out at the end of the disco era as a super disco diva, so her outfit and story was dated before her debut. But she pops back up every so often. I think Greg Pak wrote some good Dazzler stuff recently, though.

Same concept works with pencil or ink. Experiment away.

Well, once you've got the line art done, scan it and print it. Or photocopy. If you like what you do with those, then you can do it to the original afterwards.
