For the issue with the lines, do you know what resolution your illustrator is doing the art? I used to have a glitchy line issue with my comic, so I started scanning in my art at 600 dpi and doing all the digital work at 600 dpi and then saving it at a higher quality. This helped a lot.
The art and writing is really good on the recent pages. I especially like the effort put into the backgrounds, which is something that is usually lacking in webcomics.
Have you ever seen a book called ""1,000 Steampunk Creations?" It's an excellent source for inspiration. I'm working on a steampunk graphic novel at the moment and I came across this book at my library and it is filled with so much great stuff. Worth looking into if you haven't already. Tell your illustrator about it for sure.
