I might've gotten just a little carried away at the 50%- and 75%-off bins...McDuffies wrote:What an ECBD.LibertyCabbage wrote:I spent, like, $70 on comics at FCBD today.

Homemade margaritas made me happy today. I like having a blender.

I brought a life-sized fully intact manaquin in good condition for next to nothing at a garage sale today. It's something I always wanted.
Now to start freaking out the neighbors with interesting outfits and poses in the yard.

Re: What made YOU happy today?
There was a woman on come dine with me who had manaquins all over her house, dressed for all the different rooms. So there was one in the garden dressed for gardening, one in the bedroom in a nighty, etc. They said the creepest one was the one in the bathroom, can't remember what that one was wearing though.Ekolter wrote:I brought a life-sized fully intact manaquin in good condition for next to nothing at a garage sale today. Inspired by The Voice UK the wife and I have been singing to each other more (we always used to do silly songs together and sing in meows but never properly) and I've descovered I have a rather nice (apparently) low range. I have a habbit of trying to sing high and singing low doesn't come naturally but I'm having fun with it.

I sat and watched my husband draw the most complicated pattern I've ever seen in my life by hand, and it just blew me away. It brought me back to where we would sit on the couch together, me playing Chrono Trigger for the umpteenth time and him just calmly drawing paisley.
I like him.
I like him.

some bad ass photographer is going to do my vintage 50's headshots for my portfolio in exchange for some light webwork. I love art community.

If you wanted a photographer to make headshots of your ass you should have hired a good one.

Re: What made YOU happy today?
being an ass photographer isn't an easy career
everyone's always butting into the picture
you feel like you're at the bottom of the barrel
and your subjects are annoyingly cheeky
alternate joke:
being an ass photographer can be very rewarding, except your subjects never pay you

I don't think that's what Phact was going for, since it doesn't have a vintage 50ies feel.

That means that you have qualifications to join The Sons Of Lee Marvin society.
You probably look like young, 80'ies nick cave (while he was still a junky
). Unless you suddenly started going bald and grew 70'ies porn star moustaches.
