I come back to CG for the first time in a while and the General Discussion is over run by casino and auto insurance spam? Has the CG Apocalypse finally happened?! And did the end really come by SPAM?! That's it... I've lost faith in all Geners... There is no Bob!!

You can at least hide the spam by making the spammers your "foes" in the friend/foe system of the forums, although apparently that doesn't hide the topics, just the individual posts...

Anyone who has become obese through spam should be looked upon sadly. It would take a LOT of Spam to make a person obese, and anyone who is willing to eat that much of a "potted meat product" clearly has something wrong with them.

I think all this spam is blow back from the internet gods for all the hate CG gave to a particular furry porno web comic. maybe the perverted troll was right and CG will be ruined.

I also worry that posting somehow triggers the bots, so I'm afraid to.

Honestly, the forums are almost unusable with all the spam. When this happens it's really time to get draconian. Ban IPs. Ban whole dynamic ranges. Ban ISPs if necessary. Typically these things come out of Eastern Europe, so a ban that covers a small geographic region will cut off the flow of spam.
