You should stop doing this. There is no point in mods deleting spam if every deleted spam post leaves a useless thread. This kind of thread is spam even without it's first post.

Oh yeah, I meant just our replies to it. Like Ahaugen's replies, so instead of them being to the actual spam thread they have their own thread for just responses of silliness.

We can reach a compromise: How about we start a thread for replies to spam threads, so if you have any reply to a spam, you reply in that thread instead of in spam thread?

Actually we are supposed to move all spam to Trash forum, which I think is hidden from regular members, in order to keep documentation about spam, IP's that spam is coming from, banned members etc.

The "trash" has a short auto-purge, so it works around trying to delete every individual post one at a time.

If -I- catch the spam, I ban the IP, and then delete the user and its' posts. Unfortunately they changed this function in later versions of phpBB3 so that deleting the posts and banning the user are separate.


And everyone else, please don't reply to spam, as the reason they post on forums in the first place is because people do this... this making it visible to search engines.
