I moved to Pittsburgh for Grad School (starts Aug 27). Hunting for work and familiarzing myself with the area to kill time.

Kid said his first 'sentence' the other day. It was 'Hi Mama' He's already standing and trying to climb out of the play area. Not bad for a 7 month old.

ROTC, as Tim said, is Reserve Officers Training Corp. It is one of three sources for commissioning officers into the US military. The other two being OCS and the military academies. Its a program you enter into during college, and take as an additional class. Traditionally, it's a 4 year program, but can be completed in 2-3 years in some situations. It's that thing I did in college which made me wear a uniform once a week, work out twice a week, and which got me to where I am today.

Reinder (who posts here on occassion) creates ROCR, Rogues of Clwd-Rhan. which is a vaguely similar acronym to ROTC. McDuffies noted the similarity in his post by referencing Reinder, I expanded on his note by substituting "Rogues of" for "Reserve Officers". I could also have said "Rogues of Twyd Chan?", but either way, I definitely knew what it meant (hence saying Training Corps) and McDuffies probably knew what it meant, but regardless the funny is dead now.
