that's pretty much what happens when we start a discussion about anything. In this case, merc just took action.

Personnally, I don't mind both forums as one... just hope it doesn't mean twice the spam.

As long as sweeping changes are being made, "Keenime" is still a sad little pit of despair and necromancy. I failed to raise it, so now might be as good a time as any to let it die. ::sighs:: The sub-forum, not the dropdown. The dropdown is fine. :shifty:

Furries.... :-?
Wait, replacing keenime with a furry forum? What is even the hell?!?

How about a spiky hair forum? Wait, that's redundant. Elf forum?

I must say that I'm pretty angry about this whole change. I think that it will only lead to more mess. First of all, I am dissatisfied that such huge decision was made without any consultation with overall forum community. I mean, yeah, there was a little talk, but seriously, two guys say "let's change it" and suddenly you do it. And it all happened while I was out of town, so I never had a chance to speak my opinion about it. I would have agreed to every resolution you came with, as long as it's something that's agreed upon by the entire community and as long as it goes along my opinions on the subject. I personally think that it will lead to more chaos than it was worth it. I mean, a certain order was established: people would approach the forum through the "safe zone" of General Discussion, they would hang around there for a while, and then when they felt they were ready, they would move to Off Topic Junk forum which was generally a place for more serious, in-depth and topical discussion. I personally think that it also helped weed people who were there for just a short while and had no real dedication to the forum, from those who were there to stay, and who grew up to be helpful, constructive and elaborate members of this community. I mean, now the same forum will be populated by newcommers who probably still haven't read the forum rules, and those who will try to have some creative discussion, will have to shuffle through loads of useless banter posted by people who just want to see their name on the screen. I personally as someone earlier said, now he's forced to browse through loads of threads that he never had intention of visiting, and it's not always not difficult to skip those threads alltogerhet. I mean, do we really have to put up with newbies? I don't mean to knock on them, and I don't mean to offend anybody or stick to crude stereotypes or anything, but it is a fact that they are less inteligent than us, right? Actually I think that the best idea would be if General Discussion was renamed into something like "Kindergarden" and Off Topic was visible only to people who had a certain number of posts. Actually, it's something that would be kept secret, because it would only cause people to post-whore in order to crank up their post-count and be allowed to Off Topic, and we all know what kind of fiasco happened last time when we gave too much significance to post counts. Actually I think that this solution is the worst one that you could have made, because it causes much more problems than it solves. Actually, it makes it difficult for General Discussion crowd too, because now they have to browse through various Off Topic threads just to get to a few topical ones. Actually this solution does not suit anyone, and I won't be surprised if both OT crowd and GD crowd gets largely discouraged from posting in future, which will manifest in marked decrease of posts in both forums. Actually if we're up to this kind of surgical abominations, why have we stopped here, why don't we merge Help Center and Forums Games? Actually, why don't we merge Forums Games with Announcements, after all their purpose is similar just as much as the purpose of General Discussion. Actually what I'm really mad about it that as of now, I only have moderator powers in Forum Games. I mean, I am known as a modest person, and I don't generally point out my achievements, but I think that it would be correct to say that I was the best moderator that this forum has ever had. I mean, I have only abused my moderator powers twice, and if I ever used moderator panels to persecute people I don't like and erase and edit their posts, I only did it for a short while, for minimal time. So if anything, I should be promoted, not demoted. And demotion is what I get by being stuck with Games Forum. Games Forum, frankly, sucks, and without any intention to offend any visitor of this forum, no matter how regular or constipated, Games Forum is visited only by sad losers. I am greatly offended by such treatment, specially if you consider that, for instance, Phactorri, who is known as confrontational and easily irritable person, didn't have any change in his moderator status by this change. Actually, the first and foremost reason why I'm complaining about this change is that it makes it easier for them to get me. Any yes, by "them" I mean little green aliens. For some reason they'd never go to Off Topic, probably because I drew pentangle around it and did daily incantations, but I'm not in situation to do that for general discussion. So by merging these two forums, you've basically left open field for them to abduct me and do experiments on me. I've already seen two of them peeking in here yesterday, and I run away without getting to post anything, because I was afraid for my own safety. I can already pinpoint at least five posteds here who are actually aliens posing in here as humans in order to set a trap for me. I won't say their nicks, for reasons of discretion, and because I have to be prepared for any occurence so it's better not to put my cards on the table right away. Actually I'll tell you a little secret: scroll to the bottom of the first page of 59th page of doodles thread. Look carefully at the bottom of the page, concentrate at the blue background, and you will see three circles of lighter blue on the background, forming a circle. Those are marks of their space ship, where it landed first. You'll probably have to look more closely and for a while, because circles are very pale, and if you still can't see them, try looking at it with crossed eyes, like when you're watching a stereogram. Another good way of spotting them is if you take two shots of vodka before you try to look at them. I should also mention that I've noticed hidden threats in some images posted in doodles thread. I suppose noone else noticed them, because they were coded into images, but they're there all right. I don't think they come from aliens, I rather think that it is government people. Why government is delivering threats to me in such underhanded discussion is a long story which, reasonably, I don't intend to dispose in public place, but I'll only say that I managed to get away under radar so far because I was mostly limiting my activities to Off Topic which is pretty much unobserved, and now that it's merged with GD, it will be much harder to do that and I will be more open to all kinds of attacks by aliens, government people, angry husbands, mafia godfathers etc, and that's why I'm totally against merging of Off Topic and General Discussion.

Gack! Good point!

Uh, I change my mind about keenime. <_< There was a post just last month! Er, two months ago. In a 2 year old thread. But we don't want to confuse people looking for keenime. And we wouldn't want to accidentally make me not be a mod, thus making it possible for anyone to set me to "foe" and ignore my posts. <_<
