Discussion Topic for current story line.

The place where no good punk-asses and aimless hipsters come to discuss a rather lousy comic.

I'm looking at capturing the spoiled princess market, you think increased girl-on-girl teasing will be beneficial? How has it worked for you?

It's kind of amazing how fans of the type of work we do get this kind of attachment. Like you're writing it for them specifically, and there's this expectation the comic's gonna unfold in a way that fits their lives perfectly, that our lives and our work have very little seperation. Once had a fan who was surprised, even disappointed, to hear I had a girlfriend, as if living life in a way other than in complete alienation and lonliness was to sell out or something. I'm still flattered by that kind of devotion, but it can be a bit overwhelming.

It garnered me my first homophobic hate mail, actually. Things are looking up.

As for the rest, I know what you mean - there's so much shipping from my readers that I'm thinking of opening a dockyard. I'm actually pretty terrified about starting up the new one - I can't decide whether to sign my name to it or not; or whether it's hypocritical to hide behind a pseudonym when the whole purpose was striving for honesty.

I feel I might fare better as I plan on avoiding the mature, honest exploration of complex identity issues and human vulnerability and continuing to shoot straight for cheap titilation.

Wouldn't worry about "hipocracy," regardless of how it's spelled. You only need to be honest with your story and its characters. If a pseudonym makes you feel more comfortable about it, I can't think of a reason you shouldn't use one. It's not like this is a confession.

Yeah, you caught me on a Margarita night... (Which was every night this week. Which is why I haven't updated Ugly Girl.) I knew it was wrong the minute I looked at it, but couldn't seem to figure out for the life of me how to correct it. (We have a new blender... It crushes ice.) I could fix it now, I suppose... It'll probably continue to irk me if I don't. Man, what a pathetic bunch of grammar Nazis we are... Have you read "Eats, Shoots, and Leaves" yet?

Wait a tic, I didn't even post that in this thread.

Heh, didn't mean to play on your hungover insecurities, but I meant my own spelling, which I knew was probably wrong but wasn't gonna look it up.

Have not read that book yet, no.

I need a new blender.

Ha! Which is exactly what I did. Nice. I knew there was a reason I liked you.

It's funny.

My last blender wouldn't blend ice cream. ICE CREAM. That was a $20 supermarket joke; this new one's a kitchen-aid that cost more money than I'm willing to admit to. Oy. Such a pretty house and such a pretty garden...

Would've quoted Fake Plastic Trees, personally, but that works as well.

Yeah, that would've been pretty sweet. Dang.

Yeah, this was confusing me too.
I'm a fan of the self-depricating. They make me feel put together by comparison. <--- narcissist

Big fan of self-deprication that takes the form of self-aggrandizment, regardless of how it's spelled. Been practicing that one a lot lately. Though I'm pretty sure Sublet now thinks I'm truly full of myself.

It's like looking in a mirror.

A funhouse mirror, but a mirror nonetheless.

Always a pleasure, Nanda.

This creepy old dude should be a splash of cold water on my horny male readership. Sorry Lego.

That's ok, he got plenty of hot lesbian action from my site today. There's no need to be greedy.

Looks like I got plans for later.

He's a welcome addition. Too bad we won't be seeing him again for a while because I suck at pacing.

These things happen. I remember realizing not too long ago that one of my characters hadn't been seen in almost two years.

Heh, yeah, think there was like a year or two where Charles and Mary didn't see each other. Why does anyone even read this bullshit? Should probably just quit.

Nonsense. What would you do with all the spare time?

Yeah, they're all so happy lately. Must be time to drop the other shoe.

Dammit, Nanda we've already lost Sam and Linds last week. How much more are we expected to take?

Yeah, in this episode I'm trying something that's probably more than I can handle. In doing so I'll be going to some of those annoying places Nanda was yelling at me about but the hope is we'll have something interesting in the end.

If I get around to updating.
