Oh well. As long as this guy's a change a change from the Tennant persona, it'll be OK. I liked Tennant more than most here, but it wouldn't be right to switch actors and keep the same personality.

Well eccelston and tennant both did a good job so I'll give this guy a chance. The stories are still interesting after they went from Eccelston to tennant and I don't see that changing. I wish Eccelston would have done another season, I grew up with tom baker so I like when the Dr. has a long run.

I hope he's a grumpy, slow speaking jerk with a slight evil mastermind streak. If we can't have an old one, I'd at least like him to act old. Maybe put a little gray in his hair, add some makeup, and we'd be in business.

I, like some others, am displeased that they didn't pick a guy who's physically more different than prrevious two. Dr. Who ain't James Bond, they should milk the premise that he's different persona more, by having greated variety of Dr. Who appearances.

I do find it odd, but I'll give the guy a chance. having a doctor who's around my age is a little weird, I have to admit. still, she hasn't said much about the persona itself, so it could be that he'll play a very different Doctor even if there is some physical resemblance to the previous one.so yeah, I'll reserve judgment until I see what he does with it. I certainly have more faith in Moffet's casting ability than I do in RTD's.

I thought that the doctor was supposed to get younger every time he regenerated. But david tennant was pretty young to be the doc but this guy looks too young. The next doctor will end up being a teenager.

I think RTD, for all his flaws, did some excelent casting. Eccleson was fantastic, Tennant was brilliant, Piper was great, Jack was an awful lot of fun, Donna was awesome and Martha was... Well...

Look, I didn't say RTD was perfect.

Do we know this was Moffat's decision, though? It may have been RTD's last hurrah.

I suppose I assumed that it was moffat based on the interview. I don't know for sure, of course. RTD did do some good casting for the doctor, but I still generally trust Moffat more than him.
