Hi, thanks for your response. I actually don't scan in anything, I draw everything on the computer, heh. And I work at 300 dpi, then i shrink it down when I upload it to the site. I'm still working out the physics of it, really. I actually found my tablet pen finally, so I'm going to get out a new page for Christmas...you're too kind to say my stuff is decent, heheh.

300dpi is good for printing. 72dpi is all you need for the web. Don't lose your stylus any more and keep drawing.

No, draw in 300 dpi, you never know when you're going to want to print or someone will ask for a copy printed or whatever! Web or not, bigger is always better for art, you can always size down but never up (unless it's vector!). What if someone wants you to print it?! 300 dpi ftw. I actually draw bigger than I'm planning to print (painting at 8x11ish for a manga sized print to be)

Glad you found your pen! And it IS decent. (shakes fist) Stop trying to make a pity case out of yourself. We all hate our own art (strangles own comic) but it's best to not fuss about it in public because it... ugh... there's a word, but I can't remember it... it puts down the people who'd aspire to be as good as you are. It degrades the aspirations of those who don't already have your skill. (I hate it when good artists sulk about their art publically, because if what they do is bad, what's my work?) Do you want some proper criticism rather than 'it's decent'? I'm not actually an all-kind person, I'm just refraining from wall-of-texting in your general direction. =P I don't like going SURPRISE CRITICISM in non-critical threads. I'm a very wordy critic, I give very complete opinions when I do so I'm just saying it's decent because otherwise, you'd have a page of text in Word about the pros and cons of the presentation of your artwork. :shifty:

Anyway, point in case, your art is decent. It's not perfect and I could tell you why and how to make it a lot better if you WANTED that, but it is not as bad as you are perceiving it to be! SO THERE. Also, I really liked that brief jump into color way more than the tones. =( Man, I wish you would've continued like that, I really liked the limited color scheme there. RED HAIRED GUYS. <33333333333 BUT NO! D: /brief critique

Ah, here's the intro thread. Knew there had to be one. :D

Hi! I have no webcomic of my own, or not yet anyway. A friend and I have an idea that we're ironing out, so hopefully someday soon. I like to read and find new series though, so I figured I'd join up now. It seems like a very nicely run and friendly forum, and I'm looking forward to chatting with you all!

Hi others :D Technically this is my second post... would have been my third but my internets ate my attempted first post in one of the forums, bah. Don't have my comic up & running yet but all things take time. This will be my first time having my work published online in any fashion- up until now everything's been those goofy little things you draw and show to your friends and then put away somewhere, or the handful of comics I did last year for the school paper. I'm excited, so many firsts! And I'm trying out new elements of drawing in this comic- for example giving people necks and shoulders XD hah. Well, here's to what will hopefully be not-lame or possibly perhaps interesting posts!
Don't kid yourself, friend. I still know how.

Welcome to ComicGenesis, Cuddly! Good luck with the whole 'drawing people to have necks and shoulders' thing! Best of luck with your first comic. I hadn't even 'drawn comics to show my friends', really. Just a couple of pages, the longest had ever been 10 scrappy penciled pages that I showed one person and about six other pages in various degrees of completion. So, you know, you can do it!

Hello everyone! My name is Jessi and I'm not an artist, just a writer, but i wanted to join up. I have one friend that I know of here, so I thought I might see what's going on. I'm not much of a forum type person, so I have no idea what to expect, but I'm sure I'll find out - good or bad.

Be safe everyone.

Well, I'm Luke.

I previously worked on a comic here called Dreams after Sunrise as a writer, but when me and the artist, er how to put this politely, 'fell out' (Lots of angry words were said), the comic was stopped.

Now I've decided to try and strike it out on my own and do the drawing and the writing for a comic myself. My drawing skills so far lead much to be desired I'm afraid, but I'm constantly trying to improve them. In fact that's one of the reasons I started this project; to try and improve my skills.

My webcomic is about a twenty one year old stuck in a wheelchair. I try to find humour in the situation without directly making fun of a disability. So far I think that goal has been achieved. I’m still deciding on an update schedule, but as I did nothing but make comics over my Christmas holidays, I’ve set it up so far to update for every day until the 22nd.

More personally, I'm an nineteen year old Psychology student at the University of Essex in Colchester, which is situated in her majesty’s England. I collect and wear bowler hats, and am always on the search for the elusive top hat. I'm a male who wears woman clothing: Not dresses or anything, nor am I transgendered. I just think that some tops, shirts and suit jackets look good on me, and are much more interesting than male clothes. Of course with tops I have to avoid buying anything with spaces for boobs. Urgh.

And that's that really. I'm hoping to enjoy myself here. :)

--- Luke

Oh I know of you!
(Someone used the random button to get from your site to mine for starters...)
I'm a fellow Englander (from Londahhn Toawn actually) welcome to Comic Genesis and you'll be pleased to know you're not the *ahem* frutiest dude I've ever known.

It's okay, I'm a girl and I wear guy's clothing! Just inexplicably, that's not considered fruity. XD

Welcome to ComicGenesis, Luke! I also love hats, but not bowler hats... I'm forever on the lookout for vintage style hats, particularly guys golf hats. Hard to find up here in the cold wintery north. And vintage clothes.

And with tops, let me tell you, I have boobs and I can't wear most women's shirts because they aren't made with enough boob space. -_- So I wear men's shirts and they fit perfectly. Weird.

Hi all,

We're a computer-savvy duo from Australia, Sooj (Artist) and Tom (Writer).
This is our very first webcomic and our first joint project, initially sparked by
the idea of satirising Arts students, political leaders and painful segmentation faults in our computer assignments.
(Don't get us wrong, we still love our Arts students :))

Although we're still in the "pending" list, feel free to check our first comic out here:
