Re: Introduction Thread - Welcome to the New and Old
Another new guy, first timer. This time, creator of "Verona FM", pending acceptance. Oh, about my questionable technique; I'm on a budget so tight you can say foreclosure up it. The borders are a good place for a watermark, too; if you know where to put it. I'm ahead of myself, I know.

Welcome, Otama! It would be helpful to link to your site once it's up, then we can go check it out. And I wouldn't worry about questionable techniques, this place has seen it's fair share of experimental stuff.

Well, if it's still pending acceptance we can't really see if it's questionable or not.
I don't have borders on my comic. >.> But my watermark is pretty unobtrusive, at least, once I got out of the early stuff... eergh... must do a redo... (twitchy)

Re: Introduction Thread - Welcome to the New and Old
Hi. It's been a while since I was here last, so I might as well start in this thread.
I'm Mattias Thorelli, co-creator of What Brids Know. I used to post in here under the name hallonpress, but since we don't use that name anywhere anymore, I started a new account. Nice to meet you.
Re: Introduction Thread - Welcome to the New and Old
Well, hai! Welcome back to ComicGenesis, I guess? Not that I knew you before! A friend linked me to your comic about a month ago though I haven't read it yet, it is on my bookmarks, I do know which comic it is. I've heard it's weird but good.
Re: Introduction Thread - Welcome to the New and Old
Hey I'm a newbie here. Finally got my verification e-mail. So hello.
Re: Introduction Thread - Welcome to the New and Old
HEY GUYZ!
*Ahem*
Almost finally got a comic going. Just gotta set up the site and away we go. Hi all.

Re: Introduction Thread - Welcome to the New and Old
Hello everyone
I've just joined up only the forum having read quite a few comicgenius comics. I should have done this ages ago!
I have my own webcomic which is very new, I'm hoping there will be a link to it in my signature! I'm very new to all this, so I'm really hoping to improve. A lot.

Howdy, folks! Another new comic author here. I haven't gotten my comic going yet, but it should start up soon. I already have about a month's worth of comics (the updates will come twice a week), I just haven't had a chance to set up my site yet. Anyway, when it does go live, I hope those of you who read it will enjoy it - and bear with me as I experiment a bit with the look of everything.

Howdy howdy. I am yet another new person to the forums. I set up my comic last year with some bare basic stuff. I'm just recently getting back into it and hopefully will do well. So hi to you all.
I hope your not expecting me to make a joke not related to ninjas, pirates, Jesus, cyborgs, or a combination of all of those.

Greetings one and all. I'm getting into drawing comics, as the ideas have been piling up and the avalanche of creativity buried me alive.

Whoa, wave of new people. o.o
HI, RHINO77 GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR WEBCOMIC, CXM GOOD LUCK WITH YOURS TOO, LEAFA... okay, someone who said more than 'I'm new'... Leafa, ComicGenius?
Good luck with your webcomc. Glad to see a reader too.
I joined having read a lot of ComicGenesis and Keenspot comics too. ChaosStone, best of luck setting up and oo, buffer, good choice! We'll bear with you as you don't have to make your link public til you have it all together.
Charlos777, good luck getting back into comicking! Same with Ultimas! Good luck getting into it and digging out of those ideas
.
And, finally, ProjectToren! Woo. Maybe things improved since I got here, because I didn't feel all that welcome.
But people here are friendly in that they don't try to SACRIFICE YOU. Seriously, some forums really aren't newbie friendly, but this one isn't bad.
Good luck with your comic?

Re: Introduction Thread - Welcome to the New and Old
Good evening to all of you. I just recently joined the forum because I was interested in finding a place to post a webcomic that my girlfriend and I are in the process of creating. We don't have a name for it yet, and there's only bits and pieces of story... And there's no character sketches yet... (This is a really new idea. Work with me here.) I just hope that I'll be able to find a good amount of input as to how to make a webcomic truly successful and entertaining for our readers. And I cannot wait to be able to actually send the first comic in to be evaluated.
Re: Introduction Thread - Welcome to the New and Old
Word of advice: just do a comic and send it in to be evaluated. It takes ages to get activated and it's kinda nice to have your site up to work with the design, seeing as you're working with the Keentags... I sent in one that was not my first comic... so yeah. Don't send in the first comic, just send in the first one you do and get that ComicGenesis page! It can take weeks!
As for successful, that's easy: make a good comic and then get its name out. Post on forums with a signature banner, GET TO KNOW OTHER WEBCOMIC ARTISTS, link exchange--but do this after you have an archive of about 20-30 or more pages or strips so that these people get hooked and you can keep them coming back! There's a lot of great webcomic resource blogs and other sites like that, so check out what they have to say, take it with a grain of salt, and if more than one of them say the same thing, take it seriously.
Read a lot and see what the experienced people have to say. Good luck with your webcomic, Baleron.

Re: Introduction Thread - Welcome to the New and Old
Reminds me that I waited until a year before I even submitted my comic to any comic listing sites!
It's better and safer (if not quite as emotionally gratifying) I found to "not be so hasty" to quote M.Bison from the Street Fighter cartoon.

Hello I'm an artist and not an internet person so all this forum stuff is over my head. I'm just here to take a stab at making a go of this comic stuff.

Spaceprincess: You are too an internet person. You're HERE, aren't you? So HAH. If you're not really internet-savvy, though, you might find ComicGenesis isn't the best free host for you... ahem, anyway. Welcome, good luck with making a comic! ...And then getting it online. =P
Katsumi-chan56: Um. Hi? Welcome, I guess... good luck with the comic you're presumably going to be making. Or reading. Maybe you read comics. Reading comics is good.
