For that one person who visits the board that I don't know personally, Capitain Cochon is a French speaking pig astronaut type superhero I cocreated with Rob here in a french class back in High School... ah, those were the days. Why do I have the feeling I could double my daily traffic if I just made a strip about Capitain Cochon?

Thank you, Steve. Now I, the one person who reads this board but does not know you in real life, feels enlightened and understands the situation better than before. Look forward to a generous check in the mail. ;>

The one person who reads this strip who doesn't know Steve?!? Hogwash, poppycock and pish-posh, I say! Mister Steve's a celebrity! He has an enormous fan base and personal security forces and I'm jealous. He's also smart enough not to post something TWICE, like I did under Sara's topic, and I don't know how to erase it.

I also do not know Steve, and am thankful for the enlightening explanation.
Though now I feel like I have missed out, and must beseech, no, request, no, COMMAND that this mysterious man in black, err, Capitaine Couchon make an appearance soon, no, immediately, no, YESTERDAY!
*rushes back to his dark secluded corner reserved 'specially for people who don't know Steve personally*
------------------

The rebirth of Capitaine Cohon?! Could such a powerful force be raised again? I must sit on this... the risk factors are astronomical... he just might end the world. But he is cute for a spaceman pig. Hmm....
Oh yeah! Elaine- click the 3rd icon from the left- you can edit your messages with that- with the ever popular "whoops- double post!" All right, Steve, that is a point. But... um... well... I was the first person who's seen your book, knows your girlfriend, AND saw the site despite not knowing you personally.
Can I please have this one?
By the by, Elaine, I wrote you an e-mail about that... try the Fortunecity address right here.

(Through the Shadows, text magically appears.)
I know I don't know you. I started reading your strip ever since it was annonced back on the egroup. And I enjoy it! Anyway, Captain Cochon? Reminds me of Pigs in Space from The Muppet Show. Ever read Lord of the Flies?
(The text finishes appearing. Unfortunately, it remains hanging in mid-air.)
Dark Knight http://dk.keenspace.com/

I believe I recall a Piggy from Lord of the Flies, and I recall the famous head on the stick, but Capitain Cochon is a truly unique individual! With his lazer guns and astronaught helmet and in the later half of the semester he even favored a little stubble. Yes sir, there's no pig like Capitain Cochon... or Captain Pig for the non french speaking.

Actually, Lord of the Flies was an excellent novel! I just hate things I have to read for school. But oh, what a crazy thing for the 50's!! Such a conservative time, and to write a novel about boys-turned-savages killing each other... man.
What a fascinating time, the 50's....
-Elaine "Maybe I should have started a 50's thread too" Hornby
------------------

Gha! I despised Lord of the Flies... one of the many books I've read that I can acknowledge as a good work in purely literary terms, but that I can't really say I enjoyed much. Well-written, but a whole school of thought I don't believe in for even a second - well, I don't want to believe in, anyhow.

I'd suggest a 50's thread, but the only thing I can think of about the 50's is that it was probably cooler than today I wouldn't mind hanging out with 50's style gangsters with pinstrip suits and stuff... although I would probably die.... nah, I guess I'll stay here with my snootch.
~Steve

Dunno... today is pretty cool.
As for the fifties...
. . .
...I'm sorry, I draw an absolute blank when I try to remember what happened ten minutes ago. Stuff from before I was born just doesn't work. But like Steve, the whole gangsters thing would be fun. ;>
