Re: My comic won't update [UPDATE]
I have been trying to update my Indextemplate for a few days, now. I update, I wait, and wait and I update again. All while there are no other updates in the que. I Index update, I Normal Update, I even Full update after nothing else works. Whew, this is frustrating. And it's not like I haven't done this before.
I was able to upload new pages.
I dunno...

Re: My comic won't update [UPDATE]
I tired to update some things on my indextemplate yesterday. I updated my links page, no problem. I updated my comic, in fact when I forced an update before the regular time it threw up today's comic yesterday... but changes to the index page didn't take, and they haven't taken no matter what I've tried. reuploading the comic, "regular" "full" and "index" updates. nothing. And yet the links page had no issue updating.

Yeah. I'm going to have to say that the same problem is happening to me now, on the 5th.
There's nothing I can really add that these other nice folks haven't said, but it's happening to me, too.
I'll be patient, and post a follow up.

Re: My comic won't update [UPDATE]
Is it custimary for you to have to wait 10+ hours for an update to the index to post even if the que is empty?
It makes it kinda hard to see if the changes you make are working , if you have to tweek and wait a day. Especially if the chage you made didn't work, like mine now, the change I made caused graphics to be missing, I fixed it, but the update has been waiting sinse 5 am.
Curiouser and curiouser...

I ... have no idea why some comics' indexes aren't updating.

I too am unable to update my comic today, even while the queue is empty. My ticket disappears but no changes are made.

Re: My comic won't update [UPDATE]
Yeah, my comic isn't updating either. Not good. I'm at the climax of my story arc, and I paid to run a bunch of advertising earlier in the week.
Also, my sig on this post isn't working.

Re: My comic won't update [UPDATE]
Hey, I don't know if other people found out about this already but...
Ok, so a handful of CG users are obviously having problems with updates, we already know that, but what some of you might not know is that you can get over this problem by triggering a regular update and ta-dah! You're comic has been updated to it's latest page (and any other pages that come behind it which hadn't been updated yet and should've already been.)
Unfortunately, there are a few unlucky people though, that still can't update their comics even if triggering any of the updates. I don't know why this is happening but here's a few tips:
- If you're gonna trigger an update, do so only when the number in the queue is "0" (zero). If you see any other number besides this one in the queue then wait for that update. Hopefully it'll actually work.
- If you're gonna trigger an update the first one you should try is the regular one. Why? It's unnecessary to update more pages than you need.
- When the number in the queue finally gets to "1" (one) it takes a while to get to "0" (zero), but just wait, be patient, don't rush things.
- Wait, be patient, don't rush things (seriously, lol, I can't stress it enough.)
Regular updates worked for me. My comic wasn't updating at all and it was like three days behind, I finally triggered a regular update and all the pages showed up. If it doesn't work for you then I really don't know what to tell you. But people like Dr Neo Lao might, but again wait, be patient, don't rush things. This problem will be gone eventually. You just have to learn to get around it without doing anything stupid in the process. Good Luck.
Gaisen out.

Re: My comic won't update [UPDATE]
I appreciate the help, Gaisen, but I've already been doing that with no success. My update ticket just seems to get flushed down the toilet when it's processed. I'm the only one in when the queue is at "1", then the queue moves to "0", but my comic has not updated.

Mine finally updated, after 36 hours. Now I have a new tweek qued and am waiting for it to update.
I used the Index update. Somethings still goofy.

Re: My comic won't update [UPDATE]
Well, there's something that I can fix.Bobadventures wrote:Also, my sig on this post isn't working.
Html will not work in phpBB3 (the forum software) for sigs (actually, it can be made to work, but that option is not enabled in CG). In order to get your sig to show, use BB code - copy and paste into your profile:
Code: Select all
[url=http://bobadventures.comicgenesis.com][img]http://bobadventures.comicgenesis.com/images/banner.gif[/img][/url]
Although since the image is sitting in your account, there's a good chance that the anti-hotlinking software is kicking in, so it's usually best to host your banners and such on another free image account, like PhotoBucket.

Re: My comic won't update [UPDATE]
Both my co-author Osiris and I have been trying to update our comic all day to no avail. Is there some sort of server issue going on?
Re: My comic won't update [UPDATE]
Same problem here. Eventually the queue goes to zero and it tells me there are no pending updates, but I check the page again and there has been no update. And yes I have tried clearing my cache. Seems autokeen reports that the update has been made but doesn't actually do it.

Re: My comic won't update [UPDATE]
Yep, the sig works now. Thank you! But my comic completely missed deadline yesterday, and still has not updated today.
