My comic won't update [UPDATE]
Okay, so I did what I always do. I uploaded the comic through the admin page and told it to do an index update. I waited for awhile and it didn't take (I was the only one in the que) so I tried again. I waited awhile and it still didn't update. So I logged into FileZilla and tried to reupload it. The first time, it game me some sort of fatal error, but then I tried it again and it seemed to take. I waited an hour and tried again. This time there were about 72 people ahead of me. I figured that was a good sign so I waited about 4 hours and it still didn't update. I tried once more to do a manual then went to work. It still hasn't updated. Help me please.

Re: My comic won't update
Wait, you normally trigger a full update from SiteAdmin? Please don't do that if that's the case, it increases the load on the server.
Hmm... there have been a few people reporting non-updateingness. There might be a delay on the server.
When you upload new comics, use an FTP program to upload them to the workspace/comics folder. (Note that there is also a comis folder in public_html but if you upload to there it won't work!) The serve will automatically update your comic once every 24 hours.
Please advise if it still won't show up by tomorrow morning.

i got the same issue with updates
triggering normal updates manually via siteadmin = no effect
its been aprox. ten hours since the update was ordered.

Re: My comic won't update
Doc, Ayame said index update. That's no big deal.
Ayame, I sometimes find index updates don't create a new index page, just update the one you have. Run a regular update or wait for your scheduled regular update.
Do you have a normal time of day that you usually finish and upload your comic? You could reschedule your automatic update for after that, then you wouldn't have to run manual updates.

Re: My comic won't update
Yeah I've been trying to update my navigation bar and "todays_note" for the past day and it just hasn't been taking effect. The files I have edited/changed are successfully on the server (i uploaded them and was able to pull them off the server from another computers ftp program), but it just won't update the comic itself. Do we know whats going on and when it will be back up?
Re: My comic won't update
Hi dear help center folks,
I have the same problem. I have been trying to update my comic, but the new page doesn't show up.
I missed the regular update time so I wanted to quickly put it up via the full update function before the day passes without a new page.
That's what I did (all day long):
created a new page and named it 20080901.jpg
uploaded the file to workspace/comics
went to SiteAdmin and hit "Full Update" (I tried the others as well)
deleted cache and reloaded page after about 5 minutes (and again and again and again)
The comic can be found here: thebesseffect.comicgenesis.com
Can anyone help?
Thank you!

Re: My comic won't update
Well, my page finally did update, though I didn't trigger any more updates. Unfortunately I never make the time when my page is SUPPOSED to update, and to be honest, I think I got it wrong when I changed it so...
Regardless, it did work, though I am curious as to what I may have done wrong. Thanks to everyone who responded, I hope that it is worked out in due time for everyone else.

Re: My comic won't update
I can never get my "include_filename" to refresh when I update it without my comic updating. But oddly enough it updated today and my comic refuses to.Boozeathon4billion wrote:Yeah I've been trying to update my navigation bar and "todays_note" for the past day and it just hasn't been taking effect. It's correctly named, it's FTPed up, I just can't get the comic to update. At all. I've waited, I've cleared my cashe, I've ran manual updates several times... I've set my auto update time to be a bit later and hopefully that'll catch it...

I'm also having this same problem. My comic isn't updating for the month of September it seems.Papa Rabe wrote:Hi dear help center folks,

Re: My comic won't update [UPDATE]
Same problem here (http://fractuslux.comicgenesis.com). I tried manual update around 8:30pm last night, and still no dice. Granted I'm just coming back from a pretty long hiatus, but I'd already updated the week previous. However -- I had noticed when I first updated (the 24th) that there was considerable lag between request and actual update, even though no one else was in the queue. Between 30-40 minutes, IIRC. Eventually it caught on its own, so I figured it'd just been a glitch.
BTW -- I don't know if this helps, or if the info is even still valid since it comes from the slightly more deprecated site, but I'm on the ComicGenesis_Cecilia server. Specific problem, maybe?

Re: My comic won't update [UPDATE]
Just to lend my voice, I've been trying to overhaul my index and daily pages and it's not taking, and has yet to, and I have tried multiple types of manual updates to try and get it going. So now I'm giving up and seeing what happens if I wait.
Re: My comic won't update [UPDATE]
Oh really? I've been just trying to update my cast and links and archive and remove this space that was irritating me on my index and daily pages...DamnGlitch wrote:Just to lend my voice, I've been trying to overhaul my index and daily pages and it's not taking, and has yet to, and I have tried multiple types of manual updates to try and get it going. It's not going through. But!
I changed one of my cast page images. THAT went through. -_-

Re: My comic won't update [UPDATE]
Note that if you have your comic in the queue waiting to be updated and you send another update request, your comic is pulled out of the queue and sent to the back. Once you've triggered an update, it's always best to just wait.DamnGlitch wrote:...and I have tried multiple types of manual updates...
There does appear to be (or was) a delay on the server - possibly several comics doing server-intensive updates slowed things down. It appears to be opperating correctly t this time. Emphasis on the "appears"...

Re: My comic won't update [UPDATE]
I've been trying all three kinds of updates, usually when there wasnt a queue, and my comic still has yet to update. Now, I've been using Filezilla ever since SmartFTP decided that it wanted to try to charge money for its services. Is the problem actually on Filezilla's end, since that's when I started noticing it taking forever to update any kind of change, or is it with the autokeen?
Re: My comic won't update [UPDATE]
I think it'd be with Autokeen because--as I said--when I tried updating my page, the images went through, because I changed one of my cast images and it replaced with the new one, but none of the PAGES I put up went through.Linkara wrote:I've been trying all three kinds of updates, usually when there wasnt a queue, and my comic still has yet to update. They've went up now, though.
