The old 1990 Flash tv show. It's fantastic! However did I miss it at the time?
Although damn Central City is bloody. It could give Gotham a run for its money.

I used to love the show when I was a kid. I was always wondering how long till Flash gets it on with that scientist woman.
Man how were conventions of sentimental subplots embedded in my head.

just saw Hellboy II, loved it!
kind of saw the ending in the first five minutes, but that was alright.
rewatched "Wag the Dog" last night, and while amusing, I felt too cynical to laugh.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
On the one hand, my local video store deciding to sell off a bunch of MST3K is kind of saddening.
On the other, they sold it off to meeeeeeee!
So I've been re-watching a lot of MST3K B movies, such as the classic Pod People and Cave Dwellers, and less classic Bloodlust and Sky Divers. Also, the first Shorts tape, and all the goodness that entails!
"Why Study Industrial Arts?"
"Because you're bad at math!"
Also I rented Stranger than Fiction, but haven't watched it yet.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Just saw Wanted. That really wasn't bad at all. I actually quite enjoyed it.
Everything I knew about ballistics physically HURT. The fact that (this is the intro, not a spoiler) Cross says "bla bla bla kill you" BAM guy dies. That shot was like 10 miles dammit. Then over on his end "bla bla bla kill you", ignoring the seconds and seconds and seconds the bullet would have taken. I actually think it would have been MORE effective if he went "BANG bla bla bla bla bla bla... you die." "hu-BLARG"
But its actually a fun movie to watch. Very garbage-y, not the summer blockbuster of the year, but still worth watching for some plain-minded fun.

I dunno how it is in the movie, but the comic (blah blah blah, it doesnt stick to the source material, I know) made a specific point of it being his superpower to be able to kill things good. Doesnt matter how illogical it is, the dude can kill things. So i dunno if that alleviates the pain in your ballistics, but there you go..

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
It's further complicated by the fact that the sound of their conversation rewinding starts exactly as the bullet is going back towards the front of dude's head even though said conversation had ended before it had even reached the back of dude's head before. If it had run the same backwards as it had forwards, the guy would have still been talking after the bullet had bisected his lobes. Of course, at the bookend ending, the fourth wall gets all broke, so maybe we're not supposed to take those two sniping scenes as 100% literal.Killbert-Robby wrote:Everything I knew about ballistics physically HURT. Still, I thought it was a good movie overall, myself. The approximately 75% of it I've gotten to see so far was, anyway.
PS, why don't we have [spoiler] tags yet?
Existence is a series of catastrophes through which everything barely but continually survives.

I dunno...the animated Iron Man was pretty lame. But they did Dr Strange pretty well. I watched "The Blues Brothers" again last night. I fuckin' love that movie. <3 Also, I'd apparently forgotten, but Carrie Fisher was cute when she wasn't Leia. Damned Star Wars.

Well I'm sure that IS his super power. But I'm pretty sure his super power isnt "make bullets travel large distances in the blink of an eye". I'm not complaining, dont get me wrong, but you do have to put your brain on hold or you wont enjoy it. I didnt know what I was in for, so it took the first "what in the Christ did he just do?" kill for me to go "Oh, right, ok, brain, shut up, I wanna have fun here"

Live action Dragonball WTF
Live Goku looks grotesque!
I watched Cashback last night. It's interesting film, but trying too hard to be quirky. I don't think they had much to say.

What really gets me is that his eyes don't even line up with his mouth! They're shifted to the left! This is going to be so deliciously bad.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Honestly, it looks better than I thought it would when they announced it was going to be live action.
I still think they shoulda used animatronic puppets so that they looked like the characters from the show. That would be the greatest piece of crap ever.
