README: Banner Ad problems (including viruses)

We've changed how the ads were being served... well, actually, the parent office since we get ads from them. It looks to be alot more stable now.

Ironically, the ad I wish to report popped up into the ad space when I opened this thread!

The ad points to http://data.liquidmedianetworks.com/ and has an audio clip saying "Congratulations, you've been selected to receive a free laptop computer!"

Unfortunately, that's not the code we'd need to trace it, you need to use the DOM Inspector or Firebug in firefox and trace the entire series like below:

The difference is that unless you know what you are looking for, there really is no way to report bad ads. The ad above is one of the non-seizure inducing versions of a typically bad ad, if you open the flash object at the end, you'll see that's the physical ad. What we need to know is the entire chain between contextweb to the ad.

Bumped.

Perhaps this should be stickied for future reference? Also, I could not find gavzad.keenspot.com in the DOM Inspector, so I logged the output from the DOM Inspection here: http://www.villageidiotvsworld.com/imag ... lities.txt

The ad in question pops up way too often and covers the entire screen with a huge popover when the page loads.
