Re: Anthrocon '08
I just got back from Anthrocon. Holy shit man. Holy shit. It was a blast. It was the greatest thing in the universe.
More on that later.

Hehe. Wish I could've been there at least to give you creepy obsessive fan attention.
Speaking of which, did you meet any 'End of things' fans?

I met few, which was cool. I didn't spend a whole lot of time in the dealer's den, as I was spotting for another suiter much of the time.

All I can say is, Alcohol's a hell of a drug.TheSuburbanLetdown wrote:I met few, which was cool. I didn't spend a whole lot of time in the dealer's den, as I was spotting for another suiter much of the time.

Pardon, what manner of activity is 'spotting' exactly? 'Looking for'? Oogling? (Not anything perverted, I hope)TheSuburbanLetdown wrote:I met few, which was cool. I didn't spend a whole lot of time in the dealer's den, as I was spotting for another suiter much of the time.

That just means I was watching out for another suiter to make sure they're not going to run into stuff or anything. But he can take care of himself. I was mostly the camera man.

It was a real out of comfort zone experience. I think I felt the most twisting and pulling senses of emotions one can feel in 5 days in the entire known universe.
Edit:
A picture of some dude and this really nice young lady.

HA! Sweet.
This is pretty funny. Contains bad language and slurs because the dialogue is from "Chappelle's Show" which was later turned into a song. Just a heads up.

Believe me the reaction's more bizarre in person. That was funny though.

That either makes me want to go to a furry con or run far away in the opposite direction

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...

Re: Anthrocon '08
No way dude, it fucking rocked!
Seriously though, we were being silly. One thing I learned at this con is that like minds gravitate towards each other. All the suiters I hung out with are normal people with jobs and careers and such that do this as a vacation. All the weird emo whiney people keep to themsleves and complain to each other. And the horny people? They're in their rooms doing god knows what.

Re: Anthrocon '08
Yeah, I mean honestly. Anthrocon is a big and official event. It's not like a seedy little furry commune of concentrated sad.
Worst has got to be those little groups of people who travel around in Europe to have beers and chat about webcomics. Ewww, can't stand 'em! Major creepage.

Well there was a far share of creepage there too. I'd rather not say what. Evan should know what I'm talking about though.ShannC wrote:Major creepage.

Aww, don't fret Hungrywolf. Your malaise will gradually subside with every new convention you visit. Once all your doubt and dignity is gone, you can be a full-fledged furry just like Suburban!
Oh damn, I crossed the line again. Sowwy.
I see exactly what you mean. When I trade Pokémon cards, I only stick to the cool and mature people who kiss the wife, land the promotion and level Bulbasaur.TheSuburbanLetdown wrote:Seriously though, we were being silly. Ha ha! Mayhaps... but I have much to learn from Master Evan. *bows respectfully*ShannC wrote:Aww, don't fret Hungrywolf. Your malaise will gradually subside with every new convention you visit. Once all your doubt and dignity is gone, you can be a full-fledged furry just like Suburban!
Speaking of collectibles, you should see the figurine Evan bought at the Con.ShannC wrote:I see exactly what you mean. When I trade Pokémon cards, I only stick to the cool and mature people who kiss the wife, land the promotion and level Bulbasaur.![]()

Re: Anthrocon '08
When we went out to dinner, we weren't even talking about furry shit. We talked about normal things like people, because that's what we are. Like the cop in the lobby said, he'd rather deal with 1000 of us than one Steelers fan.ShannC wrote:I see exactly what you mean. Re: Anthrocon '08
I'm sorry. It was a joke, honestly.
I wouldn't say no to one of those conventions(although I guess I would never feel arsed enough if there was a plane ticket required).
I know it's a harmless hobby. No need to be so self-conscious about it.
Hey, what about the figurine?

Re: Anthrocon '08
I'm truly grateful I witnessed no such event. I actually didn't see that much of a babyfur presence. Though there were badges and I even heard of a secret babyfur party. But other than that, I must of missed it.
There was this really graphic display of pornographic leather bondage (I'm guessing) pictures in the art gallery.
