very epic thread here - gotta contribute!
DANISH LARPER REPRESENT!!!
danish LARP is a lot like german larp, although depending on where you play then there can be a lot more (from what i can see) focus on equipment quality... but of course, all latex weapons get worn after a little use... (i should know) but we still have a lot of fun doing our thing...
in fact - LARPing in the second most popular pas-time hobby thingy in denmark!!!
anyway, here's me:

plus a really cool one of me attached... enjoy!

So you're a Holy Unseelie Hospitaler?

Lol. Not exactly... Unseelie, yes, Holy, definitely not, as as for the hospitaler, I'm more interested in bathing in the blood of the fallen than defending them. I just protect Mister healer-dude 'cause if he goes down, I'm screwed.

You are referring, I hope, to her use of dark face paint and not implying that she's racist. Either way, I'm not sure how your post can be read as anything other than degrading and insulting.Clambake 39 wrote:Ah yes. Larping; the last bastion of blackface minstrelsy.
Lei, your costume is excellent, and makeup is an important part of costuming. Keep up the good work!
Re: LARP and other cool costume pictures!
Just to help uphold the honour of British LARP, here's my two characters from our local system. Much like the German and Danish systems, armour has to be real to count, but when you play unarmoured characters...creativity happens.

Harlequin, unabalanced Priestess of Balance. Yes, those are weapon-safe juggling balls.

A meeting of scouts in preparation for a raid. The lady on the left is Kadija, part-fae gypsy scout extraordinaire.

Re: LARP and other cool costume pictures!
this thing still alive? impressive
check out my latest armor and double-axe design...

its so good for fighting - you can use it like a spear, poleaxe, glaive, axe, quarterstaff - its quite difficult to defeat (or defend against, lest you can be two places at once at still hold back the force of a halberd-swing)

Very nice, webkilla!
Here are some pics from Québec(Canada)
Yes, we have LARPs here too!
This is me, I was playing the guard captain (well, I was promoted ingame)

I'm the guy with the ringed leather on the right
Those are emissaries of the Sangore nation (Sangore is a mix of Sang(blood) and Gore ^^) They are mostly hunters or warriors.

Sangores again

hard negociations...

The leather armors worn by the Sangores and me were made by a friend of mine. He makes pretty cool armors.
This is the Shrubb, a strange forest creature( we gave him a leprechaun hat
)

Well, that's it for LARPs in Quebec^^
Keep up the good work Alina!

Pics from SLARPcon 2008 are up. I know a number of people who post here are in the pictures, so may want them shared about:
First was the Changeling the Lost game. It was the end of a six month chronicle. Pictures are in 2 chunks. I was running the game, but still somehow show up in many of the pictures. Taller guy with the really long hair in black. Often holding a camera.

Then it was a Neverwhere crossed with Heroes type game called "the Market". I am the green man.
http://picasaweb.google.com/Wade.Lahoda ... SLARPCon08
Then it was a game of immortals called "The Methuselah Club". I'm the plague doctor.
http://picasaweb.google.com/Wade.Lahoda ... SLARPCon08
Finally there was the L5R game sequel. I basically just took pictures, though half of the costumes in the room came from my collection. I like to wear robes.

Lei, I must say your costume is amazing, and the shade of your makeup is stunning. Might I ask where you got it? I'm desperately looking for something in the same shade.
