Re: Wii demand satisfaction
So my friend just unlocked Sonic and after trying him I have to say he's pretty cool if you like characters that are speed based. Like Fox for example. Good to evade and dodge attacks. His final smash is really cool too, but is a bit uncontrollable. Well "a bit" might be putting it lightly.

Re: Wii demand satisfaction
Sonic's final smash is wicked.
So far I have: Luigi, Ness, Marth, Capt. Falcon, Snake, Falco, Lucario. I almost lost to Lucario, and I lost to Snake once.
I enjoy using Lucario. He gets stronger as his damage % gets higher so it's risky. But he gets obscenely powerful in the 300% range.

Sonic's final smash is cheap bullshit, and I hope you wander eternally among the shades destined to cross the river Styx.
Or, I just suck at the game... I guess that's more the problem.

The game is actually more fun if you turn off all the items. Then it becomes a game of skill. That's what I used to do for Melee.

You're insane! I guess I should try that. Maybe I'd suck less at the game.

Re: Wii demand satisfaction
Heh, perhaps.
Brawl still has a fair amount of cheese I didn't notice in Melee. You can beat people by mashing buttons now. Especially with those attacks where you all you do is press the button over and over again and no one can escape. I overheard some "pretentious Smash Bros. tournament players" complaining about that. Pit, Fox and Meta Knight have moves like that.

Re: Wii demand satisfaction
That's kind of true. Of course, y'all did escape from my various button mashes... eventually.
Ultimately you can't listen to those tourney whiners. Even if button mashing is a "valid strategy", if you're good, you can beat it. Like in Tekken. And in life.
And now you know.

Ha! Yeah. Oh yeah, Solid Snake is really really hard to use. But he's pretty neat. I
I sort of laughed when I read that tournament thread for some reason. I guess I don't have the desire to get really good at a game to win a tournament. I just want to have fun with it. Kinda reminds me of back in my Street Fighter II days, throws were considered cheese and were heavily frowned upon in tournament circles. Though less so later since they reduced the amount of damage throws did, and even had a way for you to cancel them out anyway. I remember this one infamous guy that used nothing but cheese to win with Zangief. But to be far, what else are you going to do with Zangief?
Mmmm, mash. I want some bangers and mash now.

I'd think the idea of Smash Bros. tournament players was funny if I didn't have a friend who watched replays of professional Starcraft games...

Eh, whatever you're into I suppose. If I were younger, I'd actually try to get in on this Smash Bros. Tournament action. But now I'm a grizzled old man with bad knees that hates everything.

Eh, that's when he was actively playing the game seriously. It's also very funny to hear the Korean commentators making up slang for some of the tactics in the early going of the game. I'd laugh and laugh and whose idea was all these sodas anyway? You damn spoiled kids don't appreciate anything! When I was your age we had Coke, Malt Marrow and Canker Soda. That was it! If we didn't like it, we could drink onion juice. That was just before the war... the great war, mind you, not this piddly shit. Yes, those where the days, when the world was innocent, not like nowadays with your smash brothers...

You'd think by now Nintendo would use something better than a long list of numbers as means of ppl finding each other.

I've never actually played Pokémon. My experience it limited to the Smash Bros. games and the awful tv show.
