For your education, I got a 36. Your character went to a trade school or received on the job training.Punstarr wrote:Hey Tom, can you roll me a percentage so I can at least get started on my Skills?
Two skill programs (note restrictions)
Eight secondary skills.
If your character has been on Rifts Earth long enough you can select up to 3 Rifts style skills as Secondary Skills. Like some of the Lores, Energy WPs, and so on.
I'm confident that three of you are ready to go, so how many more?

OK! I'm back from vacation, and though my computer is still FUBAR I at least have access here at work...so that's something.
Tom, my sheet's 90% done, I just need to roll stats, crunch combat bonuses and fill in percentages. I'll take the German Shepard breed, just please don't screw me into unplayability with the drawback roll, ok?

Hey, no worries! You took the risk and it paid off! I rolled a 39 and that gives youThunderhowl wrote:Tom, my sheet's 90% done, I just need to roll stats, crunch combat bonuses and fill in percentages. Exceptional Sense of Direction and Balance
+20% to Land Navigation
+10% to wilderness Survival
+5% to Gymnastics skills (which should help supplement the lack of Parkour
and here's the cool part, +1 to Perception rolls.
I think that "mutation abnormality" works pretty well for your existing concept!
Keep it coming people, I plan on starting the character sheet thread right after Halloween if I don't get any more characters.

Perception checks were made official in the Ultimate Edition but they had been referenced in sourcebooks for years. The method for calculating your base Perception bonus is fun.
Tak your IQ.
Go to the ME chart for your save vs Psionics bonus.
The bonus your IQ score would gain is your Perception bonus.
Perception Check, how people noticed things before Spot.

thedon, don't worry about rolling the attributes yet though. Just a reminder. We're going to save the dice rolls for the OC thread where we'll post our character sheets.
Dogboy, Wolfen, Cyber-Minotaur, Elf.....
So...uh...any humans?

... and until Kevin S changed his mind about RIFTS Earth's origins, the Heroes Unlimited world was RIFTS Earth's actual past. That used to be official, right from Kevin's mouth according to someone I knew. I had a buddy/GM/freelance writer who was in negotiations with Palladium to write RIFTS:Italy many years ago. He had some sweet ideas for a Wolfen empire. Dunno if it ever got done since my friend moved out of state and I haven't seen him since.

I saw that stuff in the Rifter, I liked the style of the Wolfen Roman Empire but it was a little silly since it would've been stuck between the Gargoyles and their suppliers in Egypt. I definitely liked the hypertech Roman style though.Punstarr wrote: I had a buddy/GM/freelance writer who was in negotiations with Palladium to write RIFTS:Italy many years ago. Seriously? Do you still have that Rifter? If so, was the guy's name who did the Roman Wolfen stuff Mike? If so that's awesome. Means he at least got his stuff out there, if not in an actual worldbook.
EDIT: So what should I do with these skills and such for my RIFTS character? Just hang onto them until you post the OOC thread?

Speaking of the OOC thread, I know we'll be using Invisible Castle for our die rolls, and that Tom has a cunning plan to whip up something for our character sheets. Is there any other resources online that we are going to need? Does anyone know of a System Resource Document online for Rifts? I'm curious to figure out the differences between Rifts and Rifts: Ultimate Edition.
Tom, do you want us to PM you with copies of our sheets before we actually start play in case you need us to change anything around?

PMs are a great idea Thunderhowl. That way we'll have as much cleaned up as possible.
Take this weekend to relax everyone.
I have a feeling we aren't going to be getting any new players and I'll be creating the OC thread to finalize everything before next Friday.
Also, take a peek at my character sheet and see if you'd like any changes.

I almost spent 200 dollars today at our local new&used bookstore (Powell's if you've been to Portland). I finally got a copy Rift's Africa, with the original cover, to round out my collection. I've now got worldbooks 1-21!
