If you do make one, please put up pictures of it :D That would be so cool.

EDIT: This thread was renamed by NJ to display various projects.

ARMADILLO GAO!

Post by EmergencyExit »

Oh yes I will. I'm taking a Basic Design 3D class, it's a basic art requirement for all art students. We make art...that's three-dimensional! Oooo! So first we are making a structure out of wire. Any wire does, he recommended chicken wire, he used it to make a giant jalapeño. The only requirement is it has to be wire and has to be a foot tall or wide. I can't think outside of my comic worlds so Armadillo seemed the best bet. A giant mallet would have been too simple, You get graded more on being original, and armadillos has been uncommon thing for people to hear in my experience. It's due in about 2 weeks so you'll know soon enough if I had any success.

By the way, the next assignment is making a 6 inch clay sculpture of a found or man made object. My plan as of right now is to make a slightly smaller then true scale Nintendo Zapper, trying to keep to a EE theme. It sounds like we won't be painting the sculpture, otherwise I would have done something like a CE or a Artifact. Maybe in one of the future projects.

As good as it gets

Post by EmergencyExit »

I missed out class time and most of the weekend to work on this since I was like, horribly ill. I tried my best and got it pretty much finished. There's just so much I don't know about using clay, I played around with tools and such, this is as good as I could get it on my own. Which I don't think is too bad. Say hello to the Zapper's ugly second cousin nobody talks about.

See now, in the first picture it doesn't look too bad - and then you see it next to the real zapper and I can see your point. But still not bad for a first try. When you've got more practise working with clay you could always make another, and it would laugh with scorn at it's predecessor.

Egor's Zapper

Post by EmergencyExit »

Yeah, making a detailed gun was hard. I got a B+ on it today though, so woot.

Next project won't be EE related, but I'll post pictures here when I get started nonetheless.
