::Sigh:: I hate my life.
I spent my mom's Christmas limit for me on Gundam Models instead of getting a Game Cube, because I thought everyone would be sold out. Now I find out that Power Gamer (my local import shop), FuncoLand, and EB still had about 3-5 Cubes there and I can't get any until I save up for it myself, which is a problem considering I have about $50 right now. -.-' Now I have to wait a few months and get a used one from Funco Land.

Yes, they will have used ones at FuncoLand, because, if you remember, there are still plenty of idiots in America.
------------------

Ouch, that kinda sucks, Duke. I used to be heavy into anime-based models (nothing so mainstream as Gundam, not back in the '80's), 'cuz there was a hobby shop back in my hometown that would special order imports cheap. I wrecked most of them (I'm a lousy painter, and my glue seams tended to bead, PLUS I was usually to eager to get it together to bother to file down anything), but a few turned out ok.
Right now, I've got a model of the original Alien that's got its base paint and has been waiting for four months for me to do more...a cutaway model of the original Enterprise (series, not movie) that has a bit of detail painting on it done, but not much...a cityscape model of a giant mantis wreaking havoc which has barely been started...a model of the latest movie Enterprise (NCC-1701E) which I plan to light and have been too scared to tackle yet, an unopened RotJ Millenium Falcon, and an unopened model of Anakin's podracer. I tend to buy my models on clearence and build them when I get the time, which lately has been nonexistant.
And I know what you mean about FuncoLand. We actually have four separate resale shops where I live, and that's where my wife and I buy ALL of our games (although we do generally end up buying the systems themselves new). Heck, I got THPS2 for the DreamCast for $12.50 at one of them months ago, because it didn't have the manual (it was still $50 new, $35 used, back then).
Don't feel too bad about it - have fun assembling your models, and then when the hype has died down some and you can get a good price on used systems and games, THEN make your move.
Heck, from the looks of it, you might even be able to get an XBox ( ) for fifty bucks in the not-so-far-away future.
Later,

Well, all of my models have yet to be painted in any way, unless you count stickers.
I've been meaning to get paint for the beam stuff and various other things, like Tallgeese II's body, but I keep forgetting.

And now Duke is sick. Perfect.
------------------

Um. Joey had me drag out our Atari 2600 a couple days ago. It was fun. Our console list:
N64, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Game Boy Pocket & Colour, Playstation, Atari 2600 & 7800, Game.Com, Pong, Sega Game Gear, Sega Genesis Nomad, a glut of handheld games....um... we really don't play them, we just kinda' have 'em....
I'm probably forgetting something....no interest in the Game Cube or X-Box (can you say "Panasonic 3DO? Atari Lynx?), but maybe I'll get a Game Boy Advance for Christmas... *crosses fingers*
------------------

I'd like to have a GameCube, but I think I'll wait until the post-hype phase. But I did get a GameBoy Advance for my birthday, along with Mario Kart: Super Circuit.
My other boxes include: NES, Super NES, Atari 7800, GameBoy Pocket, and the usual load of those Tiger Electronic handheld games.
------------------
