I'm personally, still smirking at the name of the club. "The Stuck Pig".

It brings back memories of our favorite name for the standard direputable tavern we used. We called ours the Sweaty Boar.
"Ah Yes, the Sweaty Boar" was a common comment heard around my game table for many years.

I recognize some of those dancers Alina! And Ted the Bartender! Nice touch!
Especially since he would have been before your LARPing time. Must be xaq's influence. Especially since Ted was his character...

That reminds me scarily of a few clubs I've been to before. The girl with the green hair looks scarily like my mate Holly.

Actually, Ted's shown up in a few of the games that xaq has run since then, so when a chance came up to draw a bar scene, I knew I couldn't draw anyone else as the bartender. Ted is great. :)

Also, Thantos, it's not laughter so much as a sort of high-pitched Narbon-esque maniacal giggling. This whole thread has been delightful fun. Thanks guys! ^_^

(And for those of you who are still wondering what's going on - don't worry. Things will be revealed very shortly. Mwahahahaaa!)

Though Dustin as a Troll is right, can't say I'm not mildly dissapointed that there hasn't yet been an instance of someone playing a completely 'unsuitable' character.

I think the idea it's game raises a few interesting points, for example, in the comic when Mark asked if they were together and they replied NO, when I said he was glad to see somethings never change, was he talking about the charcters past and present, or the leap between reality and game world?

The other question I have now is, is Abbie GMing?

Now that it's been revealed as SR (if not some homebrew setting) there better be someone with an Ally Spirit, that's been Dikoted, and looks like Nadja Daviar. And they better not be using 4th Ed.

It still could be the future, I mean the future of the comic could be shadowrun...

...Yeah, I'm having a hard time convincing myself.

I'm pretty sure this was the revelation Alina was refering to in her earlier post. :-D

Don't worry about "unsuitable" characters (by which I assume you mean "playing against type"), the comic is still young! Alina has plans for the comic that will take at least a couple of years to complete. :-)

Nice to know that this comic will be going for a while. It would be very disappointing to have such an interesting comic die a few weeks after I found it.

Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal!
:D

It was really evident by the time we had people recognizing other characters but this is what proves without a shadow of a doubt that we're seeing the aforementioned Shadowrun game.

I don't know if I'll ever play something other than a Troll in Shadowrun. I had way too much fun with Brockozuna (the Sumo wrestler) to just move on to a new concept already, even if I haven't played him in a year.

Totally could happen. I mean, c'mon, 2056 isn't actually all that far away. Now, granted, the Shiawase Decision already hasn't happened, and there's been somewhat less in the way of nuclear bombings going on, but hey, I'm still hopeful. :)

... Of course, by that timeline, in two years I will be rounded up and sent to a reeducation center, which may impact the update schedule around here slightly. I'll be all, "Hey, no Ghost Dance for me! I'm trying to get my comic colored here! Jeez... Some people... No sense of priorities..."

Abbie is the biggest Shadowrun fan of the group so it makes sense, but it could still be someone we haven't been introduced to in the strip yet.

This definitely isn't your typical "shadowrun", at least not yet, so there are still a lot of questions to answer!

See now, if only you were a girl I could make a joke about you being a true heroin of bad comedy. Curse your Y chromosome.

Why oh Y did you have to step on that landmine and lose a leg Leftenant Dad!? Curse you! Curse you 50% of me! Damn you to a place that's only half bad so the part of me that's right and good doesn't suffer much!

*ahem*
How's that?

To get back to the topic, since Abbie is running the game it now makes a lot more sense that a lot of us would have thought she was the mad scientist on the roof when we first looked at that page (she was running the NPC).
Or was I the only one who thought that?

Either way, we can now start theorising on game plot and character archetypes.

Dustin is a Troll. That's not really an archetype, but it kinda is. What ever means he uses (magic, big guns, hitting stuff), he's for combat. I'm thinking either a ganger or merc, or some combination.

Sarah might be a PhysAd. Getting into melee with so many opponents and coming out unscathed indicates some kind of enhancement. And without obvious cyber, magic seems likely. But who knows, bonelacing and wired reflexes aren't exactly obvious.

Joel, well, he said he arranged a meeting, so a face maybe?

As for Mark, the best I can come up with is Investigator. It suits the film noir style narration, and ummm... he's wearing a brown trench coat rather than a black one? Regardless he clearly has the Hunted Flaw.

Which leads to the plot. I think the guys on the roof work for Saeder-Krupp and Mark is an unexpressed Drake. It sounds insane, but if Abbie IS GMing...

Yeah, I could totally see Abbie doing that, especially since Mark is a natural born munchkin.

Also, I love your sigline DEBO.
