Favourite Character?

Post by RobertBlake »

I wanted to set up a poll for this on the website, but that would require registering with another site to do something I could easily do on this forum.

I also tried setting up a poll in this here forum, but it seems like only 5 options are allowed. One option got cut off, and I wanted to include everyone that regularly appears in the comic.

Anyway, here's the list of characters. I'm only listing the ones that regularly appear, although your choices aren't limited to just the ones I list. Capice?

Dave Fizuth - the father
Aimee Fizuth - the mother
Kelli Fizuth - the daughter
Alex Fizuth - the son
Carlos Enrique - Alex's mouse friend
Dawn Morgenstern - Kelli's girlfriend

While you don't have to explain why you like a particular character, I won't stop you. Might help me out a bit... or just give us something for the sake of discussion.

Write-in vote for Fergo... not that he's appeared in this incarnation of the comic.

Otherwise, I think I'd have to go for Kelli.

Heh... everyone seems to like Kelli.

As for Fergo... getting him back in the comic somehow would just be way past cool.

Heh... while I feel like I can't pick a favourite because I don't want to leave wnyone out, writing for Kelli is a lot of fun.

Still, I think I need to work on fleshing out everyone else, lest they go forgotten.

Well you are the writer and it's true, Kelli does seem to have a more fleshened out character but I rather see good story writing then uncesseray delays to give characters a character ;)

Well, today's comic does add a little to Dave's character, if mentioning sports counts as character development. :P

Ew. Kelli's the worst. Like I say, the comic is drawing a horribly large amount of attention to her, and you're just kinda rubbing in the fact that your main character is a lesbian. Its gets boring pretty quick.

Which main character? Kelli? She's bisexual. Funny enough, it was in part due to your comment on the Shoutbox about having Kelli a lesbian being kinda stupid (since it's assumed Dawn is lesbian). I was going to continue with Kelli being lesbian when I realised having Kelli as bisexual is more interesting (at least, from a story standpoint).

The other part of this equation deals with my own sexual confusion, but that's another story and I don't want to go there. As it stands, I don't label myself by anything as far as orientation goes.

If you're talking about Dawn, despite her frequent appearance in the comic, she's only a supporting role. So far, I haven't explicitly stated in the strip what Dawn's sexuality is (I don't know if I ever will, either). All I've established so far is her love for Kelli.

Aside from those two, everyone else in the comic (as far as main and supporting roles go) is presumably straight.

Now I will agree with you that Kelli has gotten a lot of attention so far, but the other characters will get more development when that time comes. Of course, since I'm kind of in the middle of storyline that doesn't really involve the other Fizuths, I can't do anything with them.

Now that I've said all that, who is your favourite character?

Aimee is the best character.

But I gotta agree the jokes with the turtle boy are the best, hahahaha

Cornelius (the turtle) got a lot more screentime in a previous incarnation of the comic, though his appearances were still pretty rare. Another character, Clarice, also appeared more. So far, I think she's appeared in only one comic this time around.
