ComicGenesis Forum ArenaBattle version 2.0! *COMPLETE*
I can't draw another one up tonight, I'll just say I can't wait to return to college 3 hours away from here, so I'll try and continue my contribution tomorrow morining.
If anyone has any behind the scenes ideas they want me to include, it'd be cool if you e-mailed me them. Posting a pic of your fighter would also minimize the chances of me butchering it. No pressure, I can manage.

Thanks for drawing my idea, Serge!
It's friggen hilarious.

Round 2 - Series 1: Noir (AOD) vs. Audiobabe (Sasjhwa)
We have what will probably be a brief battle for this morning folks - Noir, the mental embodiment of the comic panel, vs. Audiobabe, the magical superhero who controls sound. Both are known to be extremely weak to each other's attack.
1 - Noir, being little more than four black lines, segments into a hundred little dashes, and launches itself at Audiobabe, ripping through her, and her cape, in several places! (12 damage). As the black dashes turn to hit her again, she pulses the air around him. The resulting sound, too low for human ears, causes the Ogres agony in the waiting pit. The shockwave hits the dashes, disrupting their attack and destroying quite a few! (11 damage).
2 - Noir reforms and throws itself as a spear right at Audiobabe, piercing herhrough the stomach, and erupting just to the left of his spine. Audiobabe is pinned to the ground, and slides, painfully, bloodily, to the arena floor! (17 damage) The crowd goes WILD! Audiobabe sends out a little pulse, which does no damage.
3 - Audiobabe's small pulse gave her the resonant frequency of Noir in this form, as well as the first three harmonics. She takes the crowds screams, magnifies them, and turns them into a single wavering tone. Noir explodes and all but evaporates. (9 damage). It does not reform.
Winner: Audiobabe! Audiobabe glows, is healed, and gains a stat point.
Loser: Noir. An Ogre artist, left ear bandaged, comes out onto the arena floor, and using a special paint, draws a new box from the stub of Noir left in the arena floor (protected by Audiobabe's impaled form). The new Noir re-joints itself and walks off the field.

Round 2 - Series 1: Kisai vs Net
Coming to the arena battleground is Kisai, the mental adept and beloved administrator of CG, vs. Net, the Naga with the magical touch. Neither is weak to the other, but both are strong opponents. This will be a good battle.
1 - Seeing his opponent, Net quickly weaves a spell that prevents his mind from being located! Kisai tries to catch him before he can finish the spell, but misses. She casts about to find his mind - despite Net's form being here, she needs to hook into his psyche, and she cannot.
2 - Net casts a fireball! The ball streaks towards Kisai, who quickly dodges, then dives for the sand as the fireball explodes!
3 - Kisai starts to stand, when a dozen magical missiles streak from the cloud of smoke from the fireball and hit her! (11 damage). The crowd cheers as first blood is drawn!
4 - Kisai tries again to seek out Net. No longer confused by his physical presence being visible but his mind not, she finds him! She puts all her thought into just making that Naga's brain misfire. Net blinks, shakes his head, and is surprised to find blood start to come out of his nose! (12 damage)
5 - Kisai continues her strangle hold on Net's mind! She starts to affect his entire neural network, pushing it this way and that with her mind, causing his muscles to spasm! Net falls to the arena floor! (10 damage)
6 - Net, momentarily dazed, is no longer providing an adequate hook for Kisai to latch onto. She loses her connection to his mind. Undaunted, she runs forward, drawing a giant mallet directly out of hammerspace!
7 - Net struggles to raise his head, sees Kisai coming, and hits her with a lightning bolt! (10 damage) Kisai stops in her tracks, completely covered with carbon, with nothing but her white eyes poking out.
8 - Net follows his lightning bolt up with a spell that causes the ground directly under Kisai to explode! Kisai's form flies through the air and rebounds of the arena wall, where it collapses to the ground, out cold.
The hammer she had summoned makes a perfect arc, flying over the heads of the audience, through ABOL the announcer, outside the arena entirely, and demolishes an outhouse outside the arena.
Winner: Net. Net glows, is healed, and gains a stat point.
Loser: Kisai. An Ogre Webcomic Artist comes into the arena with a laptop. He plugs his ethernet cable into Kisai, downloads a new avatar of her into her charred form, and she is suddenly healed. She blinks, pulls the trailing cat-5 cable out from under her shirt, smacks the (grinning) Ogre upside the head, and leaves the arena to the laughter and applause of the audience.

Round 2 - Series 1: The Mortician vs. Aeridus
Wow, what can we say about this battle folks? The Mortician is slow to attack, weak in damage, and built like a brick shithouse. Aeridus is a crowd favorite with his summoning antics. It's already a foregone conclusion that The Mortician isn't going to kill anyone with his attacks, but can Aeridus take him out before time runs out?
1 - Aeridus immediately summons a large egg! It cracks open, and a chicken-headed octopus clambers out. The chickopus wraps it's tentacles around The Mortician and pecks at him! (11 damage)
2 - The mortician calmly cuts the tentacles off the octopus with the sharp end of his shovel, and tosses the head at Aeridus. It misses. Aeridus looks a bit crestfallen.
3 - The Mortician whacks Aeridus upside the head with his shovel! (1 point) Careful Aeridus! The crowd laughs as Aeridus backs far off from the Mortician, who calmly plods along after him.
4 - Aeridus summons a horde of rats! The rats eyes all glow at once, and turn towards The Mortician!
5 - The rats launch an attack that The Mortician! They swarm him, bitting and nibbling. The Mortician starts pulling them off and breaking their necks, but the swarm does (10 damage)!
6 - The Mortician looks at Aeridus, drops a rat corpse at his feet, wheels back with the shovel, and SMACKS it at Aeridus! The rat misses, but flies into the audience, which cheers to the new attack!
7 - Aeridus, dodging another rat corpse (it lands in Linkara's beer cup with a splash), summons The Vorpal Bunny. The vorpal bunny appears, and looks around as if to find a knight to decapitate.
8 - The Vorpal bunny lunges at The Mortician! The Mortician knocks the bunny down with his shovel, but the bunny only looks pissed.
9 - Aeridus summons something, that starts to erupt up from the ground - forming a cone of sand as it moves upwards. The vorpal bunny latches onto The Mortician's leg, and gnaws on him! (9 damage)
10 - Aeridus continues to feed energy into his summoning, and the cone shaped pile of sand now stands several feet tall. The Mortician hits the vorpal bunny with a *clang* of his shovel, and it flies off into the audience.
11 - Aeridus continues his summoning. The Mortician manages to hit Aeridus with a rat corpse! (1 damage)
12 - The cone shape of sand bursts, and a huge, nearly uncountable number of giant (3") ants cascade onto the field! A rat corpse zooms past Aeridus.
13 - A rat corpse lands amidst the ants, and the ants devour it. Aeridus backs away from both the ants and The Mortician, obviously drained.
14 - Mort manages to hit Aeridus with his last rat corpse! (2 damage)
15 - Aeridus, recovered from his casting, commands the ants to go underground!
16 - The Ants burrow under the field and suddenly The Mortician falls into a cavity in the sand! In moments he's yelling in pain as his legs (now buried) are bitten by ants! (11 damage)
17 - The ants start to swarm The Mortician! (11 more damage) Aeridus begins summoning again.
18 - The Mortician manages to get back on solid ground and brushes the ants off himself. He begins stomping them, or hitting them with his shovel. The shovel doesn't seem to do much damage to himself, but it does wonders to the ants, which squish with a delightful *popcrunch* sound.
19 - Aeridus completes his summoning, and a single giant tentacle erupts from the sands! It quickly snakes out and latches onto a hapless audience member, who was unlucky enough to be sitting right next to Linkara!
20 - Aeridus commands the tentacle to fling the hapless audience member at The Mortician, which it does with great force, knocking The Mortician back! (9 damage). Aeridus has to mimick the tentacle's actions though, and the strain of the battle is obviously beginning to show.
21 - Aeridus commands the tentacle to snake out and squeeze The Mortician. Clearly tired, he takes no chances and has it wrap from The Mortician's crotch to his shoulder, then squeeze until Mortician's spine bends! (9 damage)
22 - The Mortician, ant bitten, bruised, and hollaring in agony, uses the sharp point of his shovel to pierce the tentacle, cutting it completely off! Now clearly agitated, The Mortician turns and starts to stalk towards Aeridus.
23 - Aeridus begins summoning again. Tired, he summons a hundred baby snakes. The snakes begin slithering towards The Mortician.
24 - The Mortician makes it to Aeridus and smacks him upside the head with his shovel! (2 damage). The approaching baby snakes scatter, no longer under an exhausted Aeridus' control. Aeridus puts up his hand to stop further combat.
Winner: The Mortician! The mortician glows, is healed, and gains a stat point. Fans of The Mortician wave a banner that has a comic image of The Mortician, plus sign, and a comic image of the Energizer Bunny.
Loser: Aeridus. Aeridus struggles to his feet, unsummons the ants and snakes, and makes his way off the arena floor to the cheers of most of the audience.

Good game, Mort.

Also: The hapless forumite Aeridus tentacle throws at Mort should've been me. If it had been, Aeridus might've had a chance.
Unfortunately, I was off buying more drinks at the moment and some sneaky git stole my seat.
