Hm, if no one has already bought lot 4 I'll buy that for 5 points.
Also, why not make a seperate image showing how many points everyone has and leave the white space on the maps for just the owner's names? I just think it would be easier than now because, for example, my lot 11 shows that I have 0 points, but 6 shows that I have 6 points. I just think it might cut down on confusion, probably for both you and everyone else. In fact, you could use a table to show not only who has how many points, but other things as well. For example:
) and numbers are entirely fictional for purposes of this example.

I don't own the small strip that joins my two pieces, but it's not seperately for sale either so I'm the only one who can expand into it. I've marked it off bounds 'till I get enough points to afford it. It's easier to do it this way than to draw two seperate images.
Dearest friend,
It's been awhile since we wrote each other. In the meantime quite a bit of activity has taken place. First, I finally got that zero-entropy generator/battery combo device working. What a pain. Not having hands didn't help much. I put it in it's own bunker just in case, but so far it's been powering everything just fine.
The radiation at the lake has spread, and it's forming a cloud system. One of those birds I photographed? It has been flying circles in that cloud for weeks now. When it finally comes out, I'll either have to shoot it or befriend it.
My mutation work is going well though - I planted a garden of creepers near the lake, and they're starting to bloom. Purple flowers wasn't what I expected, but I can't complain, and it did give me a place for all the dirt from my excavation for the battery.
Grass is really growing quickly over the dirt I laid down last time, and to increase the depth of the lake, I added some more dirt to the far embankment. I may keep raising the lake level in the hopes of stopping the smog. It'll make the bird split and give me more delicious photons.
Oh, that's me in the picture - floating over my new parcel of land! It came up for auction and I beat those damn eco-freaks by one point! I'm so elated. I'm offering the tree for sale, but if it doesn't get any takers... well, you see the fuse burning in the photo right? I need to open up this new space, so to speak.
Until we speak again,

I built mysef a house, and planted a sappling. Looks like "here there be dragons" could apply to my land.
Here's my updated one - hope it's acceptable

This is cool stuff, thank you Stinky. This is really a lot of fun.
I'd suggest giving out more land - let people join who want to join. Do a couple land-grab updates a day, but only one points and world image update a day. That way you aren't overstraining yourself.
... also that way it can be prolonged... you can easily keep track of who didn't update - just make a note of it in the morning when you do the updates. If someone lets their land go idle too long, have it fall back into the public domain for sale.... or you could start letting it decay... or whatever you desire to do with it.
